7 Installing the new AC power controller assembly
Additionally required material:
☐ Two taps M5
Procedure:
1. Check the SELV circuits for visible dirt before mounting the assembly. If dust or other deposits
cover the assembly, do not use it and contact the Service.
2. Clear old residue of the thermal grease off the module contact area in the inverter enclosure.
To do so, use the cleaning cloths included in the delivery, as well as isopropanol if necessary.
3. Take the new AC power controller assembly out of the transport packaging.
4. Check whether the thermal grease on the rear side
of the AC power controller assembly is undamaged.
If the thermal grease is damaged, get in touch with
your SMA contact person.
5. Carefully remove any contamination on the thermal grease with a sharp tool.
6. Guide the new AC power controller assembly into the inverter enclosure. When doing so,
ensure that there are no cables below the AC power controller assembly and no cables get
stuck there, and that the screw holes in the AC power controller assembly are located directly
above the screw holes in the inverter enclosure so that the thermal grease on the rear side of
the power module is not wiped away when the AC power controller assembly is positioned.
7. Secure the AC power controller assembly in place.
To do so, insert the two taps into the bottom two
module screw holes and tighten them slightly.
8. Insert the seven screws with a microencapsulated coating and tighten them with a Torx
screwdriver (TX20) (torque: 3 Nm).
9. Remove the two taps.
10. Insert the four module screws into the module screw holes, tighten them with a Torx
screwdriver (TX20) (torque: 0.5 Nm) and then retighten them (torque: 6 Nm).
11. Reinsert the three spacers that were previously removed and tighten them manually.
12. Connect the ribbon cable to the CON assembly and the AC power controller assembly.
