Operation (Fig. I)
Danger posed by rotating parts.
There is a risk of injury.
Â
Never grab rotating parts! When the
¾
motor is running, keep hands and
fingers away from the work area.
Risk of injury
Persons with pacemakers or other
¾
such equipment may operate the
core drilling machine with permanent
magnet system only following prior
consent from a doctor.
Danger posed by electric current.
Prior to first use, check the plug and
¾
cable for damage.
When working on walls and ceilings,
¾
secure the drilling unit with the safety
harness.
MKB 35 COMFORT
Plug in the mains plug.
Insert the core drill into the tool holder [12] on
the motor's work spindle.
Check the tool is clamped in firmly and with
positional accuracy (Fig. II).
The lever [4] is currently pointed in an upward
3
direction.
The switchable permanent magnet is deactivated
3
so the machine can be positioned.
Slight magnetic preloading simplifies the aligning
3
of the machine on vertical walls or in overhead
positions.
Push the lever downwards to the stop.
Ensure that the safety tab [6] audibly latches
in (Fig. III, 1 ).
Once the sensor LED lights up green or flashes
red, the motor can be activated via the operating
panel [5] by pressing the button MOTOR I [10].

WARNING!
WARNING!
WARNING!
CAUTION!
Turning the star handle [1] moves the motor and
the rotating drill slowly towards the workpiece.
Ensure sufficient cooling for the drilling process.
Once drilling operations are over, move the
motor away from the workpiece by turning the
star handle.
Deactivate the motor with the
button MOTOR O [9] on the operating panel [5].
Once the motor has come to a complete stand-
still, remove shavings and other drill residues.
To deactivate the permanent magnet, press the
black safety tab [6] inwards with the ball of the
thumb (Fig. III, 2 ).
Pull the lever [4] upwards (Fig. III, 3 ).
Lastly, clean the magnetic surface of shavings
and other adhesive residues.
Magnetic sensor LED [2] on the hous-
ing
On the machine's housing there is a magnetic sensor
LED which indicates the operating condition of the
machine and the adhesion of the magnets.

EMERGENCY MOTOR STOP
Emergency Motor Stop
The core drilling machine has an auto-
matic emergency shutdown facility for
the motor. If the magnet is forced away
from the ferromagnetic surface when
working with the motor running – e.g.
due to overloading, vibrations or other
causes – an air gap emerges under the
magnet. Once the magnet is released
from the surface, the motor is automat-
ically deactivated and the LED of the
magnetic sensor lights up red continu-
ously.
The motor is not decelerated, however.
