Close the fasteners in the following order, always starting from the
middle of the knee:
1. Support sheath fastener close to the knee on the lower leg
2. Support sheath fastener close to the knee on the thigh
3. Support sheath fastener away from the knee on the lower leg
4. Support sheath fastener away from the knee on the thigh
5. Circumferential harness away from the knee on the lower leg
6. Circumferential harness away from the knee on the thigh
Whilst tightening the harnesses, smoothen them in the tension direction with your
free hand. This avoids twisting the brace on the leg.
6
Use the enclosed key to set the required correction pressure when the brace is
positioned, in case of a slightly bent knee joint and when the patient is sitting.
For this purpose, adjustment screws are provided above and beneath the joint.
Avoid overcorrection!
Important: Let the patient try walking. If required, the fitting correction pressure can
be readjusted.
7
Setting the extension/flexion limit:
– If required, it can be necessary to restrict the scope of the brace's movement. The
treating physician provides information regarding any necessary restrictions.
– Take the side joint splint out of the sheath fastener and remove the condyle pad
from the joint.
– Remove the screw for the limit stop to be set.
– Remove the limit stop from the joint and insert the required angular degree.
– Fix the stop used with the screw provided, re-attach the condyle pad with Velcro
and tighten the joint splint again in the sheath fastener.
The following restrictions are available:
– Extension: 0°, 5°, 10°, 15°, 20° and 25°
– Flexion: 0° (180°), 30° 45°, 60°, 75° and 90°
Then, instruct the patient in the use of the aid.
