I. OPERATION

General Information

Preparing for Unit
Start-up

The Floor Cleaners BD 700 BAT and BR 700 BAT are intended for use
with 36 V d.c. They are powered by 6 x 6 V batteries connected in series.
The batteries are supplied ex-works with models 1.990-131 and 1.990-
141. (For other models – see section "Battery Types and Chargers").
The floor cleaners have been designed so that the user can easily
recognize and operate all functions. The operating console (25) contains
all the switches and indicators, the functions of which are represented
by symbols.
a. After removing the outer packaging, leave the unit on the wooden
palette. The boards at the side of the packaging are used to construct
a ramp.
b. Release the unit cover retaining mechanism (27), and lift open the unit
cover. Apply thumb pressure to release the tank retaining mecha-
nism (26) at the side, and swivel the tank to the rear. The unit is now
open.
c. Batteries to be provided! – see chapter "II. Batteries"
d. The batteries must be installed and connected by a qualified person.
The batteries are placed on the tray as shown in the drawing below,
and connected together using the supplied cables (remember to
grease terminals). Insert key in switch (13), and turn to position "0".
The connecting cable supplied with the unit is attached to the two
remaining (+) and (–) battery terminals. Caution: ensure poles are
connected correctly!
Connect the red plug on the cable to the red socket on the unit.
Release the retaining mechanism at the side of the unit, and close the
unit cover.
Charge the batteries before taking the unit into operation!
