lf water is splashed onto the camera, wipe the water off
with a clean, soft cloth.
Inspecting the Packing and O-ring ll
The waterproofing in this camera is provided by the
packing" and the O-ring. To ensure that this waterproofing
is not impaired, always observe the directions given in this
section "lnspecting the Packing and O-ring" when replacing
the battery or film.
. Packing: The orange rubber frame inside the back cover,
O-ring: The black rubber ring inside the battery cover.
1. When you exchange the film or battery, always check to
see that the packing @, O-ring @, and any mating
surfaces O @ are not scratched or dirty.
2. Use a moistened cotton swab to remove any sand, hair,
or other particles from the packing, O-ring, and any
mating surfaces. lf you use the camera when these
components are scratched or dirty, the camera will not
be waterproof and will break when you immerse it in
water. In this case, the camera cannot be repaired.
