2-channel audio
Place the speakers between 1.5 and 3 metres (5 to 10 feet) apart
and a similar distance from the listening position. Try to keep
them at least 0.5m (20 in) from the side and back walls (above).
Image focus is often improved by angling the speakers towards
the central listening position, especially if they are widely spaced.
The impression of depth is improved as the speakers are drawn
further from the back wall.
The distance from nearby walls affects the balance of the
speakers, with the bass appearing stronger the closer the
speakers are to reflecting surfaces. Experiment to find a good
combination of tonal balance and imaging.

Multi-channel audio-visual systems
If the speakers are to be used for the front left and right channels
in a home theatre system, they should be placed closer together
than for 2-channel audio because the surround speakers tend to
widen the image. Placing the speakers within 0.5m (20 in) of the
sides of the screen also helps to keep the sound stage in scale
with the visual image. As with conventional 2-channel systems,
try to keep the speakers at least 0.5m (20 in) from side walls
(above).
Stray magnetic fields
The speaker drive units create stray magnetic fields that extend
beyond the boundaries of the cabinet. We recommend you keep
magnetically sensitive articles (CRT television and computer
screens, computer discs, audio and video tapes, swipe cards and
the like) at least 0.5m (20 in) from the speakers. Plasma, LCD,
LED and OLED screens are not affected by magnetic fields.
