5. Charging the battery
The battery charger must be operated in a dry
environment.
Have the cover of the battery compartment open while
charging.
Only charge the battery using the supplied charger! The
instructions for charging must be heeded.
A Connect the charging plug from the battery charger with the
unit's charging receptacle. Connect the battery charger
with the mains. Charging begins (required charging time at
least 14 hours).
Note: The Kärcher chargers (6.654-100, -101) may be left
connected to the unit until the next time it is to be used
(retentive charging).
Caution: The guarantee becomes invalid if chargers
other than those approved by Kärcher are used.
Ending the charging process:
First unplug the mains plug and then withdraw the charging
plug.
Checking the acid level of the 12 V, 50 A-h battery
– Take out the sweeping container.
– Screw out screws of protective cover.
– Remove protective cover.
– Clean the battery with a dry cloth.
– Check acid level of battery every 40 hours or monthly and
refill with distilled water, if necessary.
Strictly observe instructions!
Note for KSM 690 BAT:
Checking the acid level is redundant.
