Ultrasonic heat meter radio 3 (MID)
Environmental conditions
• Operating conditions / measurement range:
Computer unit:
Pair of temperature sensors:
Volume measuring section (heat meter): Q 15 °C...130 °C
• Ambient temperature:
• Installation: dry surroundings, easily accessible rooms
• Do not disconnect the volume measuring section and temperature sensors from the
computer unit.
Installation
General installation instructions
Ö Observe the environmental conditions!
!
When selecting the installation location, pay attention to the length of the fixed
connected sensor cable.
Ö Do not carry out any welding, soldering or drilling work in the vicinity of the meter.
Ö Only install meters in operational systems.
Ö Protect meters against damages from impacts or vibration.
When commissioning, open the shut-off valves slowly.
Ö Install the volume measuring section isolated from the power supply. Ensure that the
pipes leading to and from the volume measuring section are properly secured and
supported.
Volume measuring section installation
• The flow direction can be recognised from the arrows on the volume measuring section
as well as on the electronics housing firmly attached to it.
!
The arrow on the side of the volume measuring section must be in accordance
with the flow direction. Otherwise, the meter does not start.
• The meter normally neither needs a straight inlet nor a straight outlet pipework run.
Suitable and unsuitable installation locations
A, B: OK,
C: not OK - air accumulation in the volume measuring section.
Installation at a high point only if a bleeding option exists.
No installation at a low point!
D: Only OK in closed systems
E: not OK - directly after a restriction or a reducing component
F: not OK - too close to the suction side of a pump
G: not OK - after a bypass loop in two levels
• Observe: Distance ≥ 50 cm between the computer unit and possible sources for
electromagnetic interference.
• If there are several meters in one unit: Observe identical installation conditions!
• When installing the volume measuring section in the shared outlet of two circuits:
Q 2 °C...160 °C
DQ 3 K...150 K
Q 10 °C...150 °C DQ 3 K...140 K
Q 5 °C...55 °C
