Wiring:
Being a condenser microphone, the C 1000 S needs a power supply
(9 to 52 V phantom supply). An internal 9 V battery (6F22) enables you
to use the microphone without any external phantom supply with no
loss of sound quality (!). When operating on phantom power, however,
the C 1000 S will automatically switch out the battery. Mixer (or tape
recorder) inputs on mono jack sockets are unbalanced. In this case, be
sure to wire the microphone cord as follows: Bridge pins 1 and 3 in the
XLR connector and connect to the shield, connect pin 2 to the tip of the
jack plug (fig. 9).
