The "Protection functions" can be used by the appropriate personnel to activate and set various
protection functions.
Under no circumstances does the controller replace the on-site safety devices!
5.1 System protection
Operation priority protection function
The system protection will prevent overheating of the components installed in the system by
forced shutdown of the solar circulating pump. If the "System prot. on" value on the collector
is exceeded by at least 1 minute. the pump will be turned off and not reactivated, in order to
protect the collector, e.g. from steam. The pump is reactivated when the temperature drops
below "System prot. off".
With system protection active (on), there is an increase in the shutdown tem-
peratures in the solar collector and consequently an increase in pressure in the
system. Observe the operation manuals for the system components.
5.2 Collector protection
Priority protection function
The collector protection prevents its overheating. A forced switching of the pump ensures that
the collector is cooled through the storage. If the "Coll. prot. on" value is exceeded on the col-
lector, the pump will be turned on to cool the collector. The pump is turned off if the temperature
on the collector falls below the "Coll. prot. off" value or if the "TmaxS2" value on the storage tank
or KS SB Max on the pool is exceeded.
System protection has priority over collector protection! Even when the conditions
for collector protection exist, the solar recirculating pump switches off when the
"Syst. prot. on" temperature is reached. Normally the system protection values will
be higher than those of collector protection (according to the maximum storage
temperature or other components).
