The flange focus (distance between lens mount and sensor surface) may become
necessary once the lens is mounted. Open locking screw M to adjust flange focus.
Turn the lens at CS-Mount Ring L until the focus maximum is achieved,
Fasten screw M again.
This adjustment (distance between lens and sensor) has to be done if the focus
optimum cannot be reached with the focus ring of the lens.
Point the camera to a test pattern (Distance 5x minimum focal distance. This means
that the test pattern has to be 5 m away if the lens has a minimal focal distance of 1 m).
Open the iris completely and set the lens to maximum zoom position.
Adjust focus with the focus ring. Use a dark test pattern (or a N/D filter) at cameras
with automatic iris control to make sure that the iris is fully opened.
Set the lens to maximum wide angle position.
Open screw M for flange focus adjustment and turn the lens at CS-Mount Ring L until
the focus maximum is achieved.
Fasten screw M again.
The value marked in the drawing with AL (max. screw-in depth of the lens, < 5 mm
at C-mount) should not be exceeded. Otherwise the camera could be damaged.
Never use the C-mount ring if a CS-mount lens is used.
