Handling and Operation
Time
As soon as the mains plug is plugged into a plug socket, the display lighting turns on and the time
display 12:00 fl ashes. The clock has a 24-hour time format (AM / PM).
1. Set the hours by touching the fi eld H (21).
2. Set the minutes by touching the fi eld M (19).
The time is saved until a new time is set or the device has been disconnected from the
power supply.
Adding Coffee Beans
1. Remove the lid from the coffee bean compartment (1).
Ensure that the water tank (10) is closed so that no coffee beans can fall into the water
tank.
2. Fill the coffee bean compartment (2) with coffee beans (Picture D). Do not overfi ll it!
3. Place the lid back on the coffee bean compartment.
When you switch to another type of coffee, there will still be coffee powder from the
previous type in the grinder shaft. The grinder shaft may need to be cleaned beforehand
(see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter – "Cleaning the Grinder Shaft").
Setting the Grinding Fineness
Move the dial for the grinding fi neness (7) to the position you want (FEIN
(fi ne) – MEDIUM (medium)– GROB (coarse)) (Picture E).
When you switch to another grinding strength, there will still be coffee powder with the
previous grinding strength in the grinder shaft. The grinder shaft may need to be cleaned
beforehand (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter – "Cleaning the Grinder Shaft").
Filling the Water Tank
1. Open the water tank lid (8).
2. Pour the quantity of water required for the number of cups you want (maximum 10 cups)
into the water tank (10) (Picture F). Only ever use water to make coffee; do not pour
milk or other liquids into the water tank!
3. Close the water tank lid.
All of the water in the water tank is always used, regardless of the set number of
cups or coffee strength.
