TIP: For most foods, other than quick breads and other rising foods, another
alternative to bake would be using the convection bake or air frying
functions – which use a fan to evenly spread heat – to give faster and more
even cooking results. Adjust time (check food 5-10 minutes before the end
of the cooking cycle) and temperature (lower temperature by 10-25°F for
the same recipe) accordingly when using a function with a fan to make
baked goods.
CONVECTION BAKE
Use the Kalorik Maxx Air Fryer Oven as a convection oven for fan-assisted
baking. This function is best for achieving better browning when roasting
foods like meats and vegetables and cooking pastries that benefit from the
added air flow.
•
Place the baking pan, basket, or air rack with food inside the oven. For
greasier or moist foods that may drip, place baking pan at the bottom
level to catch anything that falls.
•
Use the function dial to select the convection bake (BAKE with fan
icon). Use temperature dial to turn to desired temperature and timer
dial to set desired baking time.
Note: convection baking generally takes less time than traditional baking. It
is best to reduce time by 25% initially and add more time if needed. You
can also reduce the temperature by 10-25°F compared to the original
recipe when making it for the first time.
•
This function is not recommended for cooking foods that need
thorough inner baking like custardy desserts, souffles, cakes, and quick
breads, as they may cook faster on the outside than on the inside. For
foods like this, use the regular bake function.
CONVECTION TOAST
Use your unit as a convection toaster oven when selecting the convection
toast function (TOAST with fan icon). Use it to toast bread, bagels, burger
buns, and more!
•
Place food on the air rack and slide inside the oven. Make sure the
removable crumb tray is in place to ensure you catch all fallout.
•
Use function dial to select TOAST.
•
Turn temperature dial to desired toasting temperature and then turn
the timer dial to preferred time to begin the cooking process.
