FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Can the suction vacuum heads work at low speed?
The range of suction vacuum heads available is very large, and the flow-pressure needs for each of them vary greatly.
In most cases, the vacuum head start-up makes it necessary to balance the skimmers, suction and pool bottom inlets.
According to this, it is very likely that your suction vacuum head could work at low speeds by adjusting the aforementioned
inlets. However, if this is not possible, you can always configure additional time at high speed for the use of the suction
vacuum head.
2. Could my heating system work at low speed?
Generally yes, as long as your system is flow-controlled (with a flow switch). Most heat exchange systems require a
minimum flow of 6 m
/h to work correctly. This minimum flow rate is guaranteed at low speeds (except when the filter
3
needs a backwash).
When your heat exchange system is controlled by pressure (with a pressure switch), you should take into account that
the installation may not have sufficient pressure when working at low speeds, which means that the heat exchange
system will only work when the TURBO mode is used.
3. Can my chemical dosing system work at low speed?
In most cases, yes. Most chemical dosing systems require a minimum flow rate of between 3 and 5 m
/h in the case
3
of salt chlorinators. This flow rate is guaranteed at low speeds under all conditions.
However, you should check the minimum operating flow rate of your dosing system to ensure that it is lower than when
the unit is working at low speeds.
4. Should I install a specific junction box to operate the Victoria Plus Silent VS pump?
No. The pump only requires a conventional voltage supply. A specific junction box is not necessary for pump operation.
5. Is it necessary to change the hydraulic installation and piping to install the Victoria Plus Silent VS pump?
Installing a variable speed pump does not involve any special dimensioning or any changes to the design of the installation.
When dimensioning, the operating characteristics of the pump at TURBO speed should be taken into account.
6. Should any precautions be taken if I only want to use the ECO low-speed mode?
If you do not wish to use the high speeds at any time, it must be taken into account that the pressure in the filter will
always be lower than that marked as "filter backwash needed". In this case, it is recommended that this level be
reduced to that appropriate to the installation, alongside a visual check of the cleanliness of the filter.
Nevertheless, it is recommended that one high speed cycle per day be programmed.
7. Could there be problems with priming the pump?
The self-priming capacity when using the low speed is lower than when using the high speeds. If you suspect that the
pump has become unprimed, program the high speed cycle at the start-up in order to ensure fast priming of the pump.
8. Could the lighting system be affected by a Victoria Plus Silent pump?
No, the electrical circuits are separate.
