Bitte lesen Sie die vorliegende Gebrauchsanweisung sorgfältig durch. Bei
Fragen wenden Sie sich an Ihren Arzt oder Fachhandel von dem Sie dieses
Medizinprodukt erhalten haben.
Zweckbestimmung
Bei diesem Medizinprodukt handelt es sich um eine Sprunggelenksorthese
zur Stabilisierung des oberen Sprunggelenks in einer Ebene. Ihre Funktion ist
es durch zwei miteinander verbundene Stabilisierungselemente die Pro- und
Supination zu begrenzen. Die Fixierung der Stabilisierungselemente erfolgt
durch einstellbare Gurte.
Indikationen
Postoperative Protektion nach Bandnaht, konservative Therapie von SPGL-
Distorsionen aller Schweregrade, funktionelle Therapie von Bandrupturen,
SPGL-Frakturen (Weber A), chronische Bandinstabilitäten, Abkürzung
der Gipsphase, Bandverletzungen, OSG-Distorsion, fibulare Bandruptur,
Pronations- und/oder Supinationstrauma.
Kontraindikationen
Thrombosegefahr, hochgradige Varikosis, periphere arterielle
Verschlusskrankheit (PAVK), Lymphabflussstörungen auch unklare
Weichteilschwellungen körperfern des angelegten Hilfsmittels, Empfindungs-
und Durchblutungsstörungen der versorgten Körperregion, Erkrankungen der
Haut im versorgten Körperabschnitt
Anwendungsrisiken / Wichtige Hinweise
Dieses Medizinprodukt ist ein verordnungsfähiges Produkt. Sprechen Sie
Anwendung und Dauer mit Ihrem verordnenden Arzt ab. Die Auswahl der
geeigneten Größe und eine Einweisung erfolgt durch das Fachpersonal, von
dem Sie das Medizinprodukt erhalten haben.
– Medizinprodukt vor radiologischen Untersuchungen ablegen
– Wurde das Tragen bei Nacht angeordnet, Beeinträchtigungen des
Blutkreislaufs vermeiden
– bei Taubheitsgefühl Medizinprodukt lockern oder ggf. abnehmen
– bei anhaltenden Beschwerden den Arzt oder Fachhandel aufsuchen
– Medizinprodukt indikationsgerecht einsetzen
– gleichzeitige Nutzung anderer Produkte nur nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt
– keine Änderungen am Produkt vornehmen
– nicht auf offenen Wunden tragen
– nicht verwenden bei Unverträglichkeiten gegen eines der verwendeten
Materialien
– kein Wiedereinsatz – dieses Hilfsmittel ist zur Versorgung eines Patienten
bestimmt
– während der Tragedauer der Orthese: keine lokale Anwendung von Cremes
oder Salben im Bereich des angelegten Hilfsmittels – kann Material
zerstören.
Anziehanleitung

Beim Anlegen der Orthese darauf achten, dass die Schalen seitlich
genau mittig am Unterschenkel anliegen. Das Fußsohlenband bitte auf
die Gegebenheiten des Patienten einstellen um eine effektive Stabilisierung
zu erreichen. Das breite untere Band zirkulär um die Schalen legen und
ankletten.

Das obere Band zirkulär um die Schalen legen und ankletten. Unteres
Band, wenn nötig, nachstellen, damit die Orthese fest anliegt.

Bei Nachlassen der Schwellung kann eventuell die MalleoStabil-Orthese
locker werden. Nach Bedarf nachstellen.

Verwendung der Gel-Komponente
Gel-Komponente von unten nach oben abziehen. Beim Wiederanbringen
der Gel-Komponente darauf achten, dass sie genau an der ursprünglichen
Stelle platziert wird. Mit der korrekten Platzierung wird sichergestellt, dass
die Kunststoffkanten abgedeckt sind.

Intended purpose
This medical device is an ankle brace for the stabilisation of the upper ankle
joint on one plane. Its function is to restrict pronation and supination via two
connected stabilisation elements. The stabilisation elements are attached
using adjustable belts.
Indications
Post-operative protection after ligament suture, conservative treatment of
ankle distortions of any severity, functional treatment of ligament ruptures,
ankle fractures (Weber A), chronic ligament instability, shortening of time
spent in plaster, ligament injuries, upper ankle joint distortion, fibular ligament
rupture, pronation and/or supination trauma.
Contraindications
Thrombosis risk, extreme varicosis, peripheral arterial occlusive disease
(PAOD), lymph drainage disorders, also unclear soft tissue swellings distal to
the aid positioned, sensory and circulatory disorders with the region of the
body treated, skin diseases in the part of the body treated
Application risks/Important notes
This medical device is a prescribable product. Discuss the use and duration
with your treating physician. The expert staff from whom you have received the
medical device will select the appropriate size and instruct you regarding its use.

– if wearing at night is prescribed, avoid negative influence on the circulatory
system
– in case of numbness, loosen the medical device and remove it if necessary
– in case of persistent complaints, consult the physician or specialist retailer
– use the medical device in accordance with therapeutic needs
– only use other products simultaneously after consultation with your
physician
– do not make any changes to the product
– do not wear it on open wounds
– do not use in case of intolerance of one of the materials used
– no re-use – this medical aid is intended for treating one patient
– whilst wearing the brace, please neither use any creams nor ointments on
or around it as they can destroy the material
Fitting instructions

When putting the brace on, ensure that the lateral shells are precisely
centred with the lower leg. Please set the strap for the sole of the foot to
fit the patient's circumstances in order to achieve effective stabilisation. Lay
the wide lower strap circumferentially around the shells and attach it with
Velcro.

Lay the upper strap circumferentially around the shells and attach it with
Velcro. If required, adjust the lower strap so that the brace is firmly in
position.

Für Kälte-Therapie
– Gel-Komponente entfernen und eine Stunde in den Gefrierschrank legen.
Hinweis: Gel wird nicht fest.
– Gel-Komponente wieder an der ursprünglichen Stelle in der Orthese
anbringen.
– Gekühlte Gel-Komponente nicht direkt auf die Haut bringen.
– Für größtmöglichen Tragekomfort immer eine Socke tragen.
Schaumstoff-Polster
Die GEL-Polster können gegeben falls gegen die beiliegenden
Schaumstoffpolster ausgetauscht werden. Hierzu bitte unbedingt ärztliche
Anordnung beachten.
Verwendung der Schaumstoff-Polster
Schaumstoff-Komponente von unten nach oben abziehen. Beim
Wiederanbringen der Schaumstoff-Polster darauf achten, dass sie genau an
der ursprünglichen Stelle platziert werden. Mit der korrekten Platzierung wird
sichergestellt, dass die Kunststoffkanten abgedeckt sind.
Ablegen
Zum Ablegen der BORT MalleoStabil-Orthese brauchen Sie nur die zwei
zirkulären Gurte öffnen.
Tipp: Schließen Sie die Klettverschlüsse um einen frühzeitigen Verschleiß der
Klettfläche zu vermeiden.

Reinigungshinweise
Handwäsche Nicht chemisch reinigen
Nicht im Wäschetrockner trocknen
Keinen Weichspüler verwenden. In Form ziehen und an der Luft trocknen.
Klettverschlüsse schließen, um die Beschädigung anderer Wäschestücke zu
vermeiden.
Gewährleistung
Für das erworbene Produkt gelten die gesetzlichen Bestimmungen des
Landes, in dem Sie das Produkt bezogen haben. Bitte wenden Sie sich
an Ihren Fachhandel, sollten Sie einen Gewährleistungsfall vermuten.
Bitte das Produkt vor Einreichung eines Gewährleistungsfalles reinigen.
Wurden beiliegende Hinweise der Gebrauchsanweisung nicht ausreichend
beachtet, so kann die Gewährleistung beeinträchtigt werden bzw. entfallen.
Ausgeschlossen ist eine Gewährleistung bei nicht indikationsgerechter
Anwendung, Nichtbeachtung der Anwendungsrisiken, -hinweise sowie
eigenmächtig vorgenommenen Änderungen am Produkt.
Nutzungsdauer / Lebensdauer des Produkts
Die Lebensdauer des Medizinprodukts wird durch den natürlichen Verschleiß
bei sach- und anwendungsgemäßem Umgang bestimmt.
Meldepflicht
Kommt es bei der Anwendung des Medizinproduktes zu einer
schwerwiegenden Verschlechterung des Gesundheitszustandes, dann
melden Sie dies ihrem Fachhändler oder uns als Hersteller sowie dem BfArM
(Bundesinstitut für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte).

When the swelling is reduced, it is possible that the MalleoStabil Brace
becomes loose. If required, adjust it.
Use of the gel component

Remove the gel component from the bottom upwards. When re-attaching
the gel component, observe that it is placed directly at its original
location. Its correct placing ensures that the plastic edges are covered.
For cold therapy
– Remove the gel component and put it into a deep-freezer for an hour.
Information: The gel doesn't harden.
– Re-attach the gel component at its original location in the brace.
– Do not bring the gel component into direct contact with the skin.
– Always wear a sock for best possible comfort.
Foam padding
The gel pads can be exchanged with the foam pads provided as the
circumstances require. For this, please be sure to observe the medical
prescription.
Use of the foam padding
Remove the foam component from the bottom upwards. When re-attaching
the foam pads, observe that they are placed precisely at their original location.
Its correct placing ensures that the plastic edges are covered.
Removal
You only need to open the two circumferential belts to remove the BORT
MalleoStabil Brace.
Tip: Close the Velcro fasteners in order to avoid early wear to the Velcro
surface.

Cleaning information
Hand-washing Do not clean chemically
Do not dry in a tumble dryer
Do not use fabric conditioner. Stretch back into shape and dry in the fresh air.
Close the Velcro fastenings to avoid damage to other laundry items.
Guarantee
The legal regulations of the country in which you acquired the product apply
to the purchased product. Please contact your specialist retailer if you suspect
a warranty claim. Please clean the product before submitting a warranty
claim. If the enclosed instructions for use have not been properly observed,
the warranty may be impaired or cancelled. The warranty does not cover use
of the product inappropriate for the indication, non-observance of application
risks, instructions and unauthorised modifications to the product.
Useful life/Lifetime of the product
The lifetime of the medical device is determined by its natural wear and tear if
treated appropriately and as recommended.
Duty of notification
If a serious worsening of the state of health occurs when using the
medical device, you are obliged to notify the specialist dealer or us as the
