Change the dust filter bag when the dust filter bag change indicator
appears in the viewing window (Fig. 9/A1) and before prolonged storage
or shipping.
For hygienic reasons, change the dust filter bag at least once every
three months.
1. Switch off the appliance and pull the plug from the mains socket,
chapter 4.3, „Switching off".
2. Open the dust compartment cover by pressing its release catch (Fig. 9/
A) and then lifting it up.
3. Lift the dust compartment cover until it locks in the highest position and
stays open by itself.
4. Pull the dust filter bag holder with the filter bag out of the appliance as
shown (Fig. 9/B).
NOTE:
Be careful when removing the dust filter bag so that no dust escapes.
5. Pull the full dust filter bag out of the dust bag holder (Fig. 10/A).
6. Push the new dust filter bag into the filter bag holder (Fig. 10/A) until it
is exactly flush with the edge of the filter bag holder.
7. Take this opportunity to check the motor protection filter as well. Clean
it if necessary,
chapter 5.2, „Cleaning the motor protection filter".
8. Re-insert the filter bag holder with the new dust filter bag (Fig. 10/B):
- To do this, set the filter bag holder into its guiderails.
- Then push the dust filter bag holder all the way down (Fig. 10/B).
NOTE:
The dust compartment cover can only be closed if the dust filter bag is
fitted correctly. This is due to the rocker fitted to the guiderails (Fig. 10/
B1).
9. Close the dust compartment cover. It clicks shut audibly.

chapter 5.1, „Changing the dust filter bag", steps 1–4.
2. Remove the motor protection filter by pulling it upwards out of its
guiderails (Fig. 11/A).
NOTE:
We recommend to also check the hygienic exhaust filter on this
occasion ( chapter 5.3, „Cleaning the hygienic exhaust filter") and to
clean both filters simultaneously if necessary.
3. Thoroughly rinse the motor protection filter by hand in clear, cold
running water (Fig. 11/B).
ATTENTION:
The filters are washable, but not suitable for cleaning in washing
machines or dishwashers. Do not use chemical cleansers to clean the
filter. Leave the filters to dry after cleaning them with water
(approx. 24 hours at room temperature, Abb. 12/A). Only put them back
into the appliance when they are completely dry.
4. If the motor protection filter is damaged or deformed, replace it with a
new one ( chapter 5.4, „Spare parts and accessories").
5. Push the motor protection filter back behind its four guiderails (Fig. 12/
B).
6. Insert the dust bag holder with the dust filter bag and close the dust
compartment cover
8–9.
