2.2.2. VIBRATIONS
Prolonged use of this machine exposes the user
to vibrations that can cause "white finger" disease
(Raynaud's phenomenon). This disease reduces the
sense of touch in the hands and the ability to regulate
temperature, generating numbness in the fingers and
a burning sensation. This disease can cause nerve
and circulation problems and even necrosis in the
hands.
A high level of vibrations and long periods of exposure
are the factors that contribute to white finger disease.
In order to reduce the risk of white finger disease, you
need to keep these recommendations in mind:
• Always wear gloves
• Worry about always having warm hands.
• Take frequent breaks.
• Always hold the machine firmly by the handles.
If you detect any of the symptoms of white finger
disease, see your doctor immediately.

2.3. WORK AREA SAFETY

Do not operate this machine in explosive
atmospheres as well as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases and dust.
Never start this machine in closed areas
such as bedrooms or garages. This
machine expels dangerous gases through
the exhaust that will accumulate in the area, making
the air in it toxic and harmful to the health of people,
animals and plants inside the area.
Do not start the machine in a closed room
or enclosure. Exhaust gases and fuel vapors
contain carbon monoxide and dangerous
chemicals. In the event of a concentration of gases
caused by insufficient ventilation, remove anything
from the work area that impedes the flow of clean
air to improve ventilation and do not work in the area
again unless you have properly ventilated the area
and be clear that ventilation is sufficient so that this
concentration does not occur again.
The area within a radius of 15 meters
around the machine must be considered
a risk area in which no one should enter
while the machine is running (Safety zone). When
necessary, use ropes and warning signs to mark the
safety zone.
Keep children and bystanders away while operating
this machine. Distractions can cause you to lose
control. Make sure that children, people or animals do
not enter your work area.
When the work must be carried out simultaneously by
two or more people, always check the presence and
location of the others in order to maintain a sufficient
distance between each person to guarantee safety.
Do not use this machine at night, in fog, or in poor
visibility that prevents you from clearly seeing the
work area.
Keep work area clean and work in good lighting. Only
use this machine in daylight or good artificial lighting.
Cluttered and dark areas cause accidents. Inspect and
remove all objects that could cause damage to you or
the machine.
Inspect the work area and remove all stones, wood,
wires, and foreign objects that could be thrown by the
cutting tool.
