Note: The unit can never be over-lubricated.
Any hoist whose casing shows any signs of shock or
deformation or for which the hook (model TU16) is
deformed, should be returned to a TRACTEL
repair agent.

12. INCORRECT USE OF HOIST

Using your supertirfor™ hoist as indicated in this manual
will ensure long-lasting, safe use of your tool. Beware of
incorrect usage of the hoist as described below.
IT IS PROHIBITED:
- to use the hoists described in this manual to lift
persons,
- to use the hoist in an environment where atmospheric
discharges are occurring (lightning, etc.)
- to try to operate the release handle when the hoist has
a load connected,
- to prevent free movement of the "reverse" lever, the
"forward" lever or the release handle,
- to simultaneously actuate the "forward" lever and the
"reverse" lever,
- to connect the pistons directly to a compressed air
system without using the control console,
- to replace the original safety pins with any other type
of pin other than tirfor
pins of the same type,
®
- to use the hoist with any other device other than its
specific anchoring device.
- to block the hoist while preventing self-alignment of
the hoist in the direction of the load,
- to use the hoist cable as a means of slinging,
- to apply a load to the end of the cable coming out at
the anchoring side,
- to strike the control units,
- to maneuver the hoist in the forward direction bringing
the sleeve of the cable hook into contact with the
casing,
- to maneuver the hoist in reverse until the cable end
comes near to the casing.

13. MALFUNCTIONS

1) PIN RUPTURE:
If the "forward" lever turns freely on its pin without driving
the mechanism, this means that the safety pins have
sheared due to an overload. The shear pins must be
replaced as indicated in section 8.
2) PUMPING:
Insufficient oil in the mechanism can result in "pumping"
(no danger) in forward operation: the hoist cable moves
up and down by a few centimeters with no progress.
Pouring oil into the casing will eliminate this problem.
If necessary, operate the hoist in reverse over a short
distance to facilitate lubrication of the parts.
3) SHAKING:
Shaking operation in reverse can also result from
insufficient oil. Proceed as above.

4) BLOCKING:
If the cable blocks in the hoist (generally due to
deterioration of the portion of the cable inside the hoist),
you must absolutely stop the maneuver. Take hold of
the load by other means, satisfying the same safety
requirements and remove the unit by disengaging it
once the load has been taken over by other means.
In the extreme case where this is not possible, return
the unit and its cable to a TRACTEL
agent.

14. REGULATORY CHECKS

Company
supertirfor™ lifting and pulling machine are required to
apply the labor regulations governing safety.
In this case, these units must be thoroughly inspected
before they are returned to service and should undergo
periodic checks.
Always check that the control valve is in good condition.
Periodically replace the compressed air hose, or replace
it if the hose shows any sign of wear.
Periodically drain and clean the console filter.
