6.8.3. Drum brake (optional)

As an option, the wheelchair can be fitted with a drum brake which
can only be operated by an attendant using the brake lever on the
push handles (Fig. 20).
Adjusting the drum brake
Basic setup for the drum brake is carried out on the cable clamping
screw (A). Fine adjustment is carried out using the adjusting nut (B)
20
on the brake cable. Unscrewing the adjustment nut will increase the
braking effect (Fig. 21).
Drum brakes only work on one drive wheel at a time!
Drum brakes are also subject to natural wear. If the braking effect
decreases, the wheelchair must no longer be used. In order to avoid
this happening, for your own safety you should check that the
brakes are working properly each time before setting off!
Once you have finished the adjustment, re-tighten all screws and
carry out a brake test!
22
Adjustments to the brake system should only be
carried out by an authorised dealer.
6.8.4. Anti-tip wheels and tipping
aids
To increase tipping stability on each side there is a tube with a small
wheel. They prevent the wheelchair from tipping over backwards. The
anti-tip wheels can also be used as a tipping aid by the attendant.
21
Activate anti-tip wheels
Press the locking button in the tube (Fig. 22)
Rotate the tube such that the wheel is pointing downwards in
the direction of the road. The tube can be locked in two extension
lengths.
If you do not need anti-tip wheels and would like to use these
as tipping aids, proceed as described above, just then rotate the
wheels so that they are pointing upwards (Fig. 23).
56
Multifunctional wheelchair |
"When" going up or down obstacles (e.g. kerbs), the
anti-tip wheels must be rotated by 180°
.
With the wheels pointing upwards, the tipping protection is disabled;
an attendant is recommended (Fig. 23).
For safety reasons, always use the anti-tip wheels
as a pair!

7. Driving

7.1. Getting in and out of the chair

Side transfer:

Move the wheelchair as close as possible to the seat surface you
are sitting on.
