8. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
1. With the key set to 'START', the
starter motor does not turn
2. With the key on «START» the
starter motor runs but the engine
does not start
3. The engine stops
4. Starting is difficult or the engine
runs erratically
5. Weak engine performance
during cutting
6. The engine stops when the
cutting means are engaged
7. Uneven mowing and insufficient
collection
PROBABLE CAUSE
Lock of the electronic board due to:
– Low battery
– fuse blown
– uncertain mass on the engine or
chassis
– interruption of microswitch
ground connections
– uncertain mass of the motor
– no start-up consent
– faulty fuel supply
– faulty ignition
Lock of the electronic board due to:
– interruption of microswitch
ground connections
– Low battery
– battery not connected correctly
(poor contacts)
– uncertain motor mass
– carburation problems
– forward speed too high in relation
to cutting height
– the movement made on the
cutting means engagement
control lever is too rapid
– engage not enabled
– cutting means assembly is not
parallel to the ground
– inefficient cutting means
– forward speed too high
compared to height of grass
– collector chute is blocked
– cutting means assembly is full
of grass

SOLUTION
Turn the ignition key to «STOP»
position and look for the cause of the
problem:
– recharge the battery (see 6.2.3)
– replace fuse (10 A)
(see 6.3.4)
– check the connections of the black
ground cables
– check the connections
– check the ground connections
– check that the conditions permitting
start-up are met (see 5.2.a)
– check the level in the tank (see 5.3.3)
– check the fuel filter
– check that the spark plug cap is
securely fitted
– check that the electrodes are clean
and have the correct gap
Turn the ignition key to «STOP»
position and look for the cause of the
problem:
– check the connections
– recharge the battery (see 6.2.3)
– check the connections (see 3.5)
– check the engine mass
– clean or replace the air filter
– clean the carburettor bowl
– empty the fuel tank and refill with
fresh fuel
– check and replace the fuel filter if
necessary
– reduce the forward speed and/or
raise the cutting height (see 4.4)
– carry out the engagement
movement more slowly
– check that the safety conditions are
met (see 5.2.b)
– check the tyre pressure (see 5.3.2)
– reinstate the alignment of the cutting
means assembly in relation to the
ground (see 6.3.1)
– contact your Dealer
– reduce the forward speed and/or
raise the cutting means assembly
(see 5.4.5)
– wait for the grass to dry
– remove the grass catcher bag and
empty the chute (see 5.4.7)
– clean the cutting means assembly
(see 5.4.10)
