Error handling
Automig has a sophisticated built-in self-protection system. The machine
automatically stops the gas supply, interrupts the welding current and stops
the wire feeding in case of an error.
Selected errors:
Gas control error (IGC)
A gas control error can be due to too low or too high gas flow.
Check that the pressure of the gas flow is higher than 2 bar and lower than 6
bar during operation, corresponding to 5 l/min and 27 l/min.
Correct the gas error by adjusting the manual gas flow to 27 l/min. Reset the
the gas error by briefly pressing the
Note: it is important that the stated gas supply can be maintained during
welding.

Too little welding effect. The welding seam forms
a bead on top of the plate.
1.
The welding voltage is too low.
Unstable wire feeding.
1.
The inlet nozzle and the wire are not in
alignment with each other
2. The reel of wire is too tight on the holder. The
wire must come off the reel evenly.
3. The inlet or contact tip has worn out or is
blocked.
4. The welding wire is not clean or it is rusty. It
could also be of an inferior quality
5. The pressure roller has to be tightened.
Spatter.
1.
Adjust new welding parameters according to
welding task.
2. Worn out contact tip.
Porous weld. A cone is formed when spot welding.
1.
Insufficient gas - too little pressure or the bottle
is empty.
2. Contact tip is blocked.
3. Leakage air is pumped in and mixes with the
shielding gas.
The wire keeps sticking in the contact tip and
feeds at slow speed.
1.
The damaged wire should be cut off, pulled
out and replaced. The pressure on the wire
feed roller should be checked and adjusted if
necessary.
2. Worn out contact tip.
3. Contact nozzle is too little in size.
