Staff qualification
These instructions designate the following qualifications:
Skilled persons in a specialist workshop
A skilled person in a specialist workshop, e.g. a mechanic for agricultural machinery, is capable on
the basis of their qualification of carrying out tasks on the machine which go beyond the maintenance
tasks. These include among other things the proper shortening of PTO drive shafts or potentially
carrying out seasonal maintenance tasks (clutches).
User
The user is capable of connecting and disconnecting the PTO drive shaft and carrying out all standard
maintenance tasks. These do not include initial setup and installation tasks, such as shortening the
PTO drive shaft.

Personal protective equipment
When carrying out the handling instructions described in these instructions, the wearing of the following
personal protective equipment is required:

Particular hazards
WARNING!
Risk of crushing fingers in the case of reckless connecting and
disconnecting the PTO drive shaft!
► Before connecting and disconnecting, observe the notes in Chapter 3.3 of these
instructions.
► When connecting and disconnecting the PTO drive shaft, watch out for your fingers.
Risk of injury during operation as a result of unintended startup
of the PTO!
► Before connecting and disconnecting the PTO, switch off the drive unit and secure it
against switching back on by removing the key.
Risk of injury during startup due to flying components!
► Ensure that the PTO drive shaft is securely attached at both ends.
Danger of being pulled in due to the PTO drive shaft rotation!
► During operation, keep a safe distance from the rotating components.
► Before working on the PTO drive shaft, ensure that no power output can be trans-
ferred.
