3.3
Adjustment of the PTO drive shaft
To prevent the PTO drive shaft from bottoming out in operation or when working on the tractor with a an
implement attached, the length of the PTO drive shaft or the protective equipment can be adjusted.
If the PTO drive shaft is too short or too long, please get in contact with a specialist workshop for
further information. Independent, unauthorized adjustment of the PTO drive shaft is forbidden.

Maintenance
The use of grease guns with the following properties is recommended for lubricating the PTO drive
shafts and clutches: Lever-action grease gun with 3g grease/pump action
The use of other grease guns such as battery-powered or compressed air grease guns is advised
against, since it may lead to seal damage.
Always comply with differing lubrication intervals (e.g. due to excessive dust
accumulation) and the notes from the device manufacturer.
4.1
PTO drive shaft maintenance
Observe the lubrication intervals in accordance with the specifications in Chapter 4.2 on page 42
Recommended grease for lubricating the PTO drive shaft:
Grease type: lithium saponified
Consistency class: NL-GI2 as per DIN 51502/KP2K
4.1.1 Lubrication of the cross bearings and protective bearings
a. For the PG guard - Push the guard cone back
(see page 522 - Figures 3 and 4)
For the SD/ST guard - Push the guard half with the guard cone back
(see page 524 and 525 - Figures 3 to 6)
b. Lubricate the universal joint and protective bearings.
