Transport
WARNING
Risk of injury from carrying heavy loads and inadequately securing
loads for transport!
▶ Use suitable means of transport.
▶ Secure the cylinder to prevent it falling.
▶ Move packed cylinder with a sack truck and lashing strap
( Fig. 5, page 59).
-or-
▶ Move unpacked cylinder with a transport net, during handling,
protect connections against possible damage.

Mounting method
5.1
Installation location
NOTICE
Risk of damage from inadequate load-bearing capacity of the
installation surface or unsuitable floor surface!
▶ Ensure that the installation surface is level and offers sufficient load-
bearing capacity.
▶ Install the cylinder in a dry frost-free interior.
▶ If there is any danger of water accumulating on the floor of the
installation location: place the cylinder on a plinth.
▶ Observe the minimum wall clearances inside the installation room
( Fig. 6, page 59).
▶ Align the cylinder vertically with the adjustable feet.
5.2
Installation
Preventing heat loss through natural circulation:
▶ Install non-return valves in all cylinder circuits.
-or-
▶ Connect pipework directly to the cylinder connections so that natural
circulation is prevented.
▶ Install connecting pipework free of stress.
5.2.1
Circulation
Connecting a DHW circulation line:
▶ Install a DHW circulation pump which is approved for potable water
and a non-return valve.
A DHW circulation line is not connected:
▶ Seal and insulate connection.
Circulation is only permitted with reference to the heat losses
during cooling with a time- and/or temperature-dependent DHW
circulation pump.
Size the DHW circulation line in accordance with DVGW Code of Practice
W 553. Observe special requirement according to DVGW W 511:
• Maximum temperature drop 5 K
To easily maintain the maximum temperature drop:
▶ Install a control valve with thermometer.
5.2.2
Connection on the heat source side
▶ Connect the flow at the top and the return at the bottom to the heat
exchanger.
▶ Keep primary lines as short as possible and insulate well. This
prevents unnecessary pressure losses and cooling down of the
cylinder due to water circulating through the pipework or similar.
▶ Provide effective ventilation (e.g. bleeding device) at the highest
point between the cylinder and wall mounted boiler to prevent faults
due to air locks.
▶ Install drain valve in the primary line.
It must be possible to drain the heat exchanger via this line.
