Footswitch functions

Setting up the footswitch

Use the FOOTSW Screen to set the footswitch.
Two footswitches can be connected by using a commercially-
available splitter cable. The function and polarity can be set
separately for each footswitch.
NOTE
When connecting a footswitch directly without using a
splitter cable, the FOOTSW1 settings will be used. In this case,
set FOOTSW2 to OFF.

When the recorder is stopped, select FOOTSW on the
SYSTEM Screen, and open the FOOTSW Screen. (see "Menu
operation procedures" on page 29)

Select FOOTSW1 or FOOTSW2 from the list, and open the
corresponding footswitch settings screen.

Select the MODE item, and open the MODE Screen.

Turn the MULTI JOG dial to select the function to assign to
the footswitch.
Option
Meaning
No function is assigned to the
OFF
footswitch.
Press to start playback when
PLAY/PAUSE
stopped or paused. Press to pause
(default)
when playing.
Press during playback to punch in.
PUNCH I/O
Press when recording to punch out.
FX MUTE
Mute the built-in effect signal.
REC/STOP
Start/stop recording.
MARKER
Add a mark to the song.
MARK SKIP
Move to the next mark.
SONG INCREMENT
Load the next song.
Use in the same way as the CLICK
TAP
button on the EFFECT and TEMPO
screens.
Use to turn the VAMP function on
and off.
This has the same function as the F4
VAMP
Screen.
VAMP in and out points can be set
on the VAMP Editing Screen, and
the VAMP playback function can be
controlled.
o When paused or playing, press
once to set a VAMP in point.
VAMP I/O SET
o When paused or playing, press
a second time to set a VAMP out
point.
o Press during VAMP playback to
turn VAMP playback off.
5.
Press the MULTI JOG dial to confirm the assigned function.
The FOOTSW screen reopens.
