About This Product

Product description
The valve system is a pneumatic valve system with electrical control.
Using extension kits, which consist of base plates, tie rod extensions, seals, and
extension circuit boards, you can add and operate further valves within the valve
system.
Unused valve positions that have been closed with blanking plates can also be
equipped with valves.
Extending the AV03 series valve system with base plates and AV05 series valves
requires an AV03/AV05 combination plate, consisting of a supply plate and an
exhaust module.
With AV valve systems with bus couplers, a subsequent extension with AV-EP
pressure regulators is also possible. The valve system must be extended with
an AV-EP base plate.
The components in detail
Valve base plates, 2x, 3x, and 4x
Loss of IP protection class!
The AV base plate system is not compatible with AV-BP.
O Only use AV and AV-BP series base and supply plates in separate systems.
Valve base plates have two or three slots for valves or functional elements.
The following base plates are available for the AV-BP series:
W
Multipole version: 2x
W
Fieldbus version: 2x and 4x
Overview of valve base plates
1 Valve base plate, 3x
2 Valve base plate, 2x
3 Port openings for push-in fittings 2 and 4
for working lines
4x base plates consist of two 2x base plates and a through circuit board.
Valve base plates are available in three versions:
W
For double solenoid valves in valve systems with bus coupler:
Single and double solenoid valves can be operated.
W
For double solenoid valves in valve systems with D-Sub connection:
Single and double solenoid valves can be operated.
W
For single solenoid valves in valve systems with D-Sub connection:
Only single solenoid valves can be operated. If a double solenoid valve is
mounted, only solenoid 14 can be used.
Marking of valve base plates
W
Valve base plates for single solenoid valves have a marking on
the back side.
W
Valve base plates for double solenoid valves do not have any marking.
Pneumatic supply plates
Pneumatic supply plates are available in different versions and allow immediate
supply of compressed air as well as pneumatic separation into pressure zones.
An exhaust module is located in the upper module half.
Loss of function due to open channels!
The top and bottom connections on the AV-BP supply plates are connected
internally.
O Make sure the top and bottom connections on the supply plates are connected,
and that unused connections are sealed.
Electrical supply plate for valve systems with bus couplers
Electrical supply plates have the option of UA power supply, enabling separation into
electrical zones. Downstream valves cannot be actuated without voltage.

Combination plates
Combination plates enable connection of AV05 valves to an AV03 valve system. They
also include a supply module for additional pressure supply and an exhaust module
for additional pressure supply and an exhaust module.
Combination plates are available in two variants:
W
For valve systems with bus coupler
W
For valve systems with D-Sub connection
AV-EP base plate
AV-EP base plates are available in different versions. You can use the AV-EP
pressure regulator for pressure zone control or single pressure control depending
on the selected base plate.
W
In AV-EP base plates for pressure zone control, all pneumatic connections are
run through the base plate.
W
On AV-EP base plates for single pressure control, the outlet connection is on the
front side.
AV-EP base plates are available in two variants:
– For valve systems with bus coupler
– For valve systems with D-Sub connection
Further information can be found in the assembly instructions R414007537.
Marking of AV-EP base plate
The material number is located on the top of the base plate. It is only visible if the
pressure regulator is disassembled.
Electrical valve control module
The electrical valve control module enables the following two valves to be actuated
separately at the right end of valve systems with bus coupler or D-Sub connection.
It is possible to use several valve control plates.

Assembly
Hot surfaces!
Touching the solenoid coils and electrical supply plates during
operating may lead to burns. The device may have a hot surface
under unfavorable operating conditions.
O Let the device cool off before disassembling it.
O Do not touch the device during operation.
Danger of injury if assembled under pressure or voltage!
Assembling when under pressure or electrical voltage can lead to injuries and
damage to the product or system components. Danger of injury from electric
shocks and sudden pressure drops.
O Make sure the relevant system part is not under pressure or voltage before
performing the following tasks:
– Assembling the product
– Removing or connecting plugs
– Disassembling the system
– Exchanging individual components
O Protect the system against being restarted.
Damage to the valve contacts!
Removing the end plate on the valve system can separate the electrical contacts
to the valves in the valve system. A closing up of the valve system components
when tightening the end plate will result in damage to the separated contacts!
O Remove all valves in the valve system from the base plates before removing
the end plate on the valve system.
O Only mount the valves on the base plates after the valve system has been
reassembled with the end plates.
Damage to the circuit board/extension circuit board!
Touching the contacts and conductors can lead to damage and corrosion of the
circuit board.
O Take care when handling the circuit board that the contacts and conductors
are not touched.
O Preferably, wear gloves.
