8. REMOTE CONTROL OF INSTRUMENT

The instrument can be remote controlled via ASCII codes and the RS232 port.
-
The RS232 port has to be configured according to OPTO RS (see Chapter 9).
-
Up to 64 control commands can be sent at the same time.
-
It is not possible to access keyboard functions whenever a sequence of control commands is
being executed.
-
Upon occurrence of the first error, all subsequent control commands will be cancelled.
-
When an error occurs, further control commands are not accepted with the exception of:
"ERR?","!ERR" and "RST".

8.1 Control command attributes

The execution of certain control commands is only possible with the instrument in a specific
configuration (control command attributes). An error message is initiated whenever a control
command is sent where compliance is not given for a required attribute.
List of control command attributes:
1.
ATTR_REF => The reference has to be adopted.
2.
ATTR_CONST => The probe constant must have been measured.
