6.6 Master / slave operation
GB
Several LED-340RGBW units may be intercon-
nected to control all further slave units via a master
unit. Connect the output DMX OUTPUT (10) of the
master unit via a 3-pole XLR cable to the input DMX
INPUT (7) of the first slave unit. Connect the output
DMX OUTPUT of the first slave unit to the input
DMX INPUT of the second slave unit etc., until all
units are connected in a chain.
Adjust the master unit either to automatic mode,
music mode, mode "Full Light" or one of the run-
ning light modes (
the slave units to slave operation as follows: Set
the DIP switches No. 10 and No. 9 to ON (upper
position).

7 DMX Control

For operation via a light controller with DMX512
protocol (e. g. DMX-1440 or DMX-510USB from
"img Stage Line") the light effect unit is equipped
with 9 DMX control channels. The functions of the
channels and the corresponding DMX values can
be found in chapter 9.1.
7.1 Connection
As a DMX interface the unit is equipped with 3-pole
XLR connections with the following contact config-
uration:
pin 1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+
For connection, special cables for high data flow
should be used. Standard microphone cables with
screening and a minimum cross section of 2 ×
0.22 mm
2
and with a capacity as low as possible
can only be recommended for a total cable length
of up to 100 m. For cable lengths exceeding 150 m
it is recommended to insert a DMX level matching
amplifier (e. g. SR-103DMX from "img Stage Line").
1) Connect the DMX input (7) to the DMX output of
the light controller.
2) Connect the DMX output (10) to the DMX input
of the next light effect unit. Connect its output
again to the input of the following unit, etc. until
all light effect units are connected in a chain.
3) Terminate the DMX output of the last DMX unit
of the chain with a 120 Ω resistor (> 0.3 W): Con-
nect a corresponding terminating plug (e. g.
DLT-123 from "img Stage Line") to the jack.

7.2 Adjusting the start address

For operating the unit with a light controller, adjust
the DMX start address for the first DMX channel via
the block of DIP switches (5). The following DMX
channels are then automatically assigned to the fol-
lowing addresses (e. g. for start address 5, the chan-
nels 2 to 9 are assigned to the addresses 6 to 13,
address 14 would then be the next possible free
start address for the following DMX controlled unit).
The start address is adjusted as a binary number
with the switches No. 1 to 9. It results by the addi-
tion of the place values of the switches which are
set to ON (upper position). Switch No. 10 must
always be set to "off" (lower position).
Examples:

After adjusting the start address, the light effect unit
may be operated via the DMX controller.

8 Cleaning the Unit

The plastic lens should be cleaned at regular inter-
vals, depending on impurities caused by dust,
smoke or other particles. Only this will ensure that
the light is radiated at maximum brightness. For
cleaning, disconnect the mains plug from the
socket. Only use a soft, clean cloth and a mild
detergent.
For cleaning the other parts of the housing, only
use a soft, clean cloth. Never use chemicals or any
fluid; it may leak into the unit and cause damage.
