Petrol engine:

Check the fuel level and add fuel, if necessary (4 cm below the edge of the filler opening)
DANGER
Petrol is extremely combustible and explosive in certain circumstances:
•
Only refill in well-ventilated areas.
•
Smoking is forbidden.
•
Do not refill fuel if the engine is running and is in the vicinity of open fire.
•
Close the fuel tank properly to prevent leaking.
•
Remove leaked fuel.
•
Beware of the danger of burns from the exhaust and the exhaust gases.
•
Electric motor:
-
Check the electric cable for damage. Do not use the pump if the cable is damaged and contact
the Holmatro dealer.
6.4.3
Cleaning and storage
All types
•
Make sure the pump has cooled down.
•
Clean the pump and any accessories before storage.
•
Clean the couplers and dust caps. Make sure the dust caps are installed.
•
Make sure the pump can not fall over during transport.
Petrol engine
•
Check that the fuel valve (Fig. 2/12) is closed.
•
Check whether the stop switch (Fig. 2/11) is in the position "0" (OFF).
NOTICE
Petrol ages within a few months. Old petrol can be difficult to start and can result in the
engine running unevenly. If it is certain that the pump will not be used within the next two
months, it is advisable to drain the petrol tank and the carburetor.
DANGER

•
Close the fuel tank properly.
•
Remove leaked fuel.
•
Remove the fuel tank cap (Fig. 7/3) from the pump.
•
Insert the suction hose from a siphon pump (Fig. 7/1) down to the lowest point of the fuel tank.
•
Use the siphon pump to siphon the fuel from the fuel tank into the jerrycan (Fig. 7/2).
•
Install the fuel tank cap on the pump.
•
Start the engine and run it until the fuel tank and carburetor are totally empty.
•
Use the drained petrol before it gets too old.
Storage
•
Dry the pump if it was used in wet conditions. Apply a thin coat of preservative oil to the external
steel parts.
•
Store the pump horizontally in a dry and well-ventilated area.
