• Check the hose for damage and leaks. Replace the hose if it leaks, has kinks, the reinforced cover
is visible or it has blisters or bulges higher than 1 mm. In case of doubt always contact the Holmatro
dealer who can assess the seriousness of the damage.
• Replace the hose no later than 10 years after the date of manufacture, regardless of its use and
external appearance. The date of manufacture is part of the test code, the first 4 digits of the test
code specify the date of manufacture of the hose (yymm*****).
8.4.5 Hydraulic oil
Check the hydraulic oil level
• Check the level of the hydraulic oil using the dipstick (Fig. 2/7).
• Add hydraulic oil to the mark, if necessary:
- 6 l tanks: 3 cm below the flange.
- 12, 25 and 50 l tanks: 6 cm below the flange.
Replace the hydraulic oil
WARNING
Used oil must be collected and disposed of in an environmentally safe way.
CAUTION
Use hydraulic oil with the correct specifications and make sure no dirt or dust enters the
hydraulic tank to prevent damage to the pump and tools.
• Remove the hydraulic oil dip stick (Fig. 2/7).
• Position a suitable container under the hydraulic oil drain plug.
• Remove the hydraulic oil drain plug (Fig. 2/6). Collect all of the old hydraulic oil in the container.
• Install the hydraulic oil drain plug and tighten it firmly.
• Fill the tank through the filler opening with hydraulic oil.
• Check the level of the hydraulic oil.
• Vent the pump after replacing the oil:
- Do not install the hydraulic oil dip stick during this operation.
- Connect a hydraulic tool.
- Start the pump.
- Let the oil flow through the hydraulic tool for two minutes.
• Install the hydraulic oil dip stick and tighten it firmly.
8.4.6 Petrol engine
• For detailed maintenance instructions refer to the Instructions for Use of the petrol engine.
8.5 Yearly dealer maintenance
We recommend having the equipment inspected, checked, set and tested once a year by a Holmatro
Certified Technician who has the appropriate knowledge and the necessary tools (see also section 1.7).
The Holmatro dealer can organize the yearly maintenance for you on a contract basis.
8.6 Long term storage
8.6.1 All types
• Clean the pump and re-tighten any screws that may have come loose due to vibration.
