TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
WARNING
This unit must be serviced by qualified personnel only.
Service by unqualified personnel may lead to electric
shock or burn.
Symptom
Unit not hot enough.
Unit too hot.
Unit not working at all.
Simulated
stone
surface
material is stained, discolored,
or has inconsistent staining/
discoloration.

Probable Cause
Unit not allowed to preheat.
Temperature Control set too low.
Heating element not working.
Location of unit is susceptible to air currents (air
conditioning ducts or exhaust fans).
Voltage supplied is incorrect.
Temperature Control set too high.
Unit plugged into incorrect power supply.
Temperature Control defective.
Voltage supplied is incorrect.
Circuit breaker tripped.
Unit not plugged in.
Unit not turned on.
Power I/O (on/off) Switch not working.
Temperature Control not working properly.
Heating element not working.
Simulated stone surface is not being cleaned
properly.

Excessive weight on shelf.
ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD: Turn OFF power switch,
unplug power cord, and allow unit to cool before
performing any cleaning, adjustments, or maintenance.
Allow a minimum of 30 minutes to preheat.
Adjust thermostat control to a higher setting.
Contact Authorized Service Agent or Hatco for assistance.
Block air currents or relocate unit.
Verify correct voltage is supplied to unit. Unit will not operate
properly with low supply voltage.
Adjust thermostat control to a lower setting.
Verify with qualified personnel that power supply matches
unit specification.
Contact Authorized Service Agent or Hatco for assistance.
Verify correct voltage is supplied to unit. High supply voltage
will cause unit to overheat and my damage unit.
Reset circuit breaker. If circuit breaker continues to trip,
contact Authorized Service Agent or Hatco.
Plug unit into proper power supply.
Move Power I/O (on/off) switch to the I (on) position.
Contact Authorized Service Agent or Hatco for assistance.
Clean surface using the "Cleaning the Stone Surface"
information in the MAINTENANCE section of this manual.
If these methods fail to produce acceptable results, contact
Hatco for assistance.
Distribute weight evenly on entire shelf. If weight on the shelf
exceeds 23 kg (50 lbs.), a deflection up to 4 mm (5/32") is
possible. If weight on the shelf exceeds 45 kg (100 lbs.),
a deflection of 6 mm (1/4") is possible. The shelf is not
guaranteed if weight on shelf exceeds 68 kg (150 lbs.).
