SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance can be utilised by children from
8 years onwards, by persons with reduced
physical, sensorial or mental capacities or by
persons who do not have sufficient experience
or knowledge, as long as supervision is en-
sured or an adequate training for the safe use
of the appliance and the persons are aware of
the implied dangers. Children must not play
with this appliance. Children must not carry
out the cleaning and maintenance that users
can effectuate without supervision.
- Once the appliance has been received, re-
move the packaging immediately and check
its general appearance and if there is any
anomaly immediately advise the sales point
or the installer.
- Your appliance is destined for normal do-
mestic use. Do not use it for industrial or
professional use or for purposes different
from those for which it was designed.
- The manufacturer does not offer any type of
guarantee regarding the consequences and
damage deriving from an inadequate instal-
lation or an incorrect use of the appliance.
- Never try to modify the characteristics of
this appliance because it constitutes a dan-
ger. Repairs must be carried out only by a
specialized, authorised technician. To avoid
risks, it is forbidden to handle the appliance
or substitute the power supply cable.
- If the hood is not supplied with a power
supply cable and plug or a category III circuit
breaker device that has contact separation on
all poles that guarantees the complete dis-
connection from the electricity power sup-
ply in the event of a voltage overload, it will
be necessary to install a category III circuit
breaker switch along the home's electricity
mains system. Contact a qualified electrician
to carry out this installation in accordance
with installation norms.
- It is necessary to have a standard switch
device that must be fitted between the appli-
ance and the circuit breaker device that also
disconnects the appliance from the power
supply. Disconnection can be made by re-
moving the plug or by installing the above
switch device into the home's electrical sys-
tem. Contact a qualified electrician to carry
out this installation in accordance with instal-
lation norms.
- If the power supply cable is damaged, it
must be substituted by the manufacturer
via the customer's service assistance or by
equivalent qualified personnel so as to avoid
any danger.
- Particular attention must be paid to where
the wall or ceiling is drilled and therefore
check beforehand that there are no hidden
electrical cables, tubing, metal beams, etc.
that could cause serious faults, current deriva-
tions or transmission of noises and vibrations.
- IMPORTANT: During the installation and
before carrying out the electrical connec-
tion of the appliance, always disconnect the
power supply from the panel (differential
or thermomagnetic circuit breakers of the
home's consumer unit).
- WARNING: Always disconnect the hood
from the power supply by removing the
plug or disconnecting the differential/ther-
momagnetic switch from the home's con-
sumer unit before proceeding with clean-
ing and maintenance operations. Never use
steam or high pressure appliances to clean
the hood (norm relative to electrical safety).
Refer to paragraph 5 "Cleaning and Main-
tenance".
- It is forbidden to cook food directly on the
gas flames or switch on the gas burners with-
out first placing a cooking utensil underneath
the hood (the extracted flames could dam-
age the appliance and the guarantee would
become invalid). It is forbidden to use the
appliance above a combustible burner stove
(wood, coal, etc.).
When frying food underneath the hood, the
operation must be constantly checked be-
cause oils and grease at a high temperature
could catch fire. Do not make fanning move-
ments under the hood.
- Attention: There is the risk of burning in the
unreachable parts because they could over-
heat when utilized with cooking appliances.
- The minimum distance between the uten-
sil's support surface for cooking on the hob
and the lower part of the hood must be at
least 65 cms., if the extractor hood is in-
stalled above a gas cooking element. Respect
the installation instructions of the gas cook-
ing element if a greater distance is recom-
mended.
- Respect the time limits regarding the clean-
ing and substitution of the filters. Accumula-
tions of grease deposits can cause fires. Nev-
er use the hood without the anti-grease filter.
- The installation must respect the norms
in force regarding the ventilation of closed
rooms.
In practice, the air extracted must not pass
through a tube used for discharging fumes
from appliances that utilize gas or other
