contour) and do not hold on to it when getting on or off the trampoline. To get off properly, move to one side of
the trampoline, place your hand flat on the frame and step over the contour where the springs are located. Help
the little ones to get on and off the trampoline,
- Ensure that the hook and loop fasteners are closed properly when using the trampoline,
- Do not jump on the trampoline unreasonably, as this increases the risk of an accident. In order to have
fun safely, it is imperative that you master the various jumps and bounces. Competitive jumping is not
recommended! Never use the trampoline without supervision,
- Consult your doctor before undertaking any physical activity.
Most common accidents :
- Getting on and off: Be careful when getting on and off the trampoline. DO NOT get on the trampoline by holding
onto the mat structure, stepping on the springs or jumping off any object (ladder, roof, bridge, etc.). This can
cause injury! DO NOT jump down from the trampoline without first appreciating the hardness of the ground. Help
younger children to get on and off the trampoline,
- Use of alcohol or drugs: DO NOT use alcohol or drugs before using the trampoline,
- Multiple users: The use of the trampoline by several people at the same time increases the risk of an accident.
Only one user at a time,
- Falling on the frame or springs: Stay in the centre of the mat when jumping on the trampoline, this will reduce
the risk of an accident by falling on the metal frame or springs. Make sure that the edge protection covers the
trampoline frame. DO NOT jump or walk on the frame: it is not designed to support a person's weight,
- Flips: DO NOT attempt to do flips (of any kind, front or back). A fall onto the head or spine can result in severe
paralysis or even be life threatening,
- Objects: DO NOT use the trampoline if there are objects, animals or people underneath the trampoline. DO NOT
jump on the trampoline with objects in your hands and DO NOT place objects on the trampoline when someone
is using it. Always check that the space above the trampoline is clear before jumping,
- Poor maintenance: A trampoline in poor condition increases the risk of accidents. Check the trampoline before
each use to prevent damage (such as a bent tube, torn mat, broken or lost spring) from affecting the stability of
the trampoline,
- Weather conditions: before each use, check that the trampoline mat is dry (risk of falling or loss of balance if
used on a wet mat or in windy conditions).
Advice on reducing the risk of accidents :
The supervisor should understand and enforce safety rules.
It is the responsibility of the supervisor to advise users on usage and safety.
If left unsupervised, the trampoline should be stored in a dry place; dismantled to prevent unauthorised use,
or covered with a properly attached tarpaulin, or even a device to prevent access (padlock, etc.). Any person
in charge of supervision must place the safety rules sheet on the trampoline and make sure that the users are
aware of it.
