Switching on and off
After pushing the power switch button ©,
the VU meters are illuminated and the unit
is ready for operation. The unit is shut off
by pushing this button again.
Inserting tape
Put the full feeding-ree! on the left spindle
and the empty take-up reel on the right
spindle.
For vertical
operation,
the reels
may be locked by lifting and turning the
locking device @.

Pull out a length
of tape about 40 cm
(17/2 feet), insert it into the tape slot and
thread it into the slot of the take-up reel.

Hold it against the surface of the reel and
turn reel counterclockwise several times,
thus securing the tape on the reel.
Selecting tape speed
The speed is selected by pushing the
speed selector @ sideways.

Index counter
The index counter is used to register and
to find desired recordings on the tape. It
registers all recordings and playback ope-
rations, and actuates on fast toreward and
fast rewind operation.
Please set the counter always at zero at
the beginning of a tape by pushing the
reset button. If you register the number
shown at the beginning of a recording, the
recording can then be easily found again.
Start
Pushing the START button starts the tape
movement for either recording or play-
back.
Interruption
For short interruptions of any operation
push the button PAUSE. The button is
released again by pushing it towards the
VU meters.

RECORD
Pause
The button PAUSE should not be pushed
during fast foreward or fast rewind ope-
ration.
Stop

By pushing the STOP button, band move-
ment is stopped. If the RECORD button
has been pressed, it will not be released
by the stop bution, when you release
the stop button, the recording will con-
tinue.
Fast-foreward and fast-rewind
operation

Fast-rewind button 4 4
The fast-foreward and the fast-rewind
operation is used to find portions of the
tape quickly as well as to rewind the en-
tire tape.
Automatic stop at the end of tape
The tape tension feeler of tape stop
switch automatically switches the unit to
STOP the moment
the end of the tape
leaves the slot or if the tape breaks.
The buttons
№ №
and
4 4 should not
be pushed without tape in the slot, as this
would cause the automatic stop switch to
create a noise.
