For stereophonic recordings two matching
microphones or a special stereo micro-
phone should be used, The microphone
for the left channel has to be connected to
input MIC 1, the microphone for the right
channel to input MIC 2. A special stereo
microphone with only one plug should be
connected to input MIC 1.
Now set the mode selector @ to stereo
and push the RECORD button. The recor-
ding levels are set by means of the con-
trol knobs 1 and 2, which normally stay
coupled.
For special effects, however, they can be
uncoupled (see: "record level setting").
When the controls are uncoupled, the le-
vel for the left microphone is set by con-
trol knob 1 @.
In this case you should monitor the record
with headphones and unit switched to
SOURCE.
When recording monaural, connect the
microphone to input MIC 1, select the
desired tape track with mode selector @.
The level is set with uncoupled
contro!
knob 1, Control knob 2 is set to zero.
Recording from discs
There
are
two
ways
to connect
the re-
cord player:
1. Record
player and tapedeck
are con-
nected to a stereo amplifier or receiver.
In this case, set amplifier or receiver mo-
de selector on PHONO. The recording is
now done in the same way as described
under
"broadcast
transmissions
recor-
dings".
2. The record player is connected directly
to the TG 29 RADIO input jack. It can be
connected directly if it is equipped with
a crystal or ceramic
pick-up cartridge.
If
the record player is equipped with a mag-
netic
pick-up
cartridge, an equalizing
preamplifier as the Dual TVV 46 has to be
12
used. The recording is now done in the
same way as described under "broadcast
transmissions recordings".
Recording from another tapedeck
Should you desire to record from a tape-
deck, connect both RADIO jacks with an
audlo cable,
Set mode selector ® on desired position,
push RECORD button and set the levels
as described under "broadcast transmis-
sions recordings".
Mixing
With your Dual TG 29, two program
sour-
ces can be mixed when recording mo-
naural. The level control knobs must be
uncoupied then.
2 microphones
One microphone has to be con-
nected to the input jack MIG 1 for
level control 1 and the other to the
input jack MIC 2 for level control 2.
Microphone and recerd player
The microphone has to be connected
to input jack MIC 1 for level control
and the record player to the RADIO
input jack for level contro! 2, whether
with equalizing preamplifier or not
(as described
under
"recordings
from
discs"). There
is no
need
to
change
cable cannections
when
re-
cord player and TG 29 are compo-
nents of a hifi chain.
Microphone and tape deck
The microphone has to be connected
to input jack МІС 1 for level contro! 1
and the other tapedeck to the RADIO
input jack for level control 2.
MULTIPLAY (sound on sound)
„Multiplay" is the production of a multi-
ple recording on a single track, made by
record single recordings on different
tracks, one after the other recording and
mixing them together. Multiplay recordings
should be monitored with headphones
and monitor switch @ in position SOUR-
CE.
A recording
The first record is recorded on track "1~—4".
Now the tape has to be rewinded and
mode
selector @ set on
"М 3-2". The
second
record is now recorded on track
"3-2" and the level is set with knob 1.
At the same time record 1 is rerecorded
and the level of this rerecording
is set
with knob 2, Both records
are now
on
track "3-2" and can be played back when
mode selector @ is in position "3-2" or
"M 3-2".
Record 3 can now be recorded
on track "1-4" again, While recording it,
records 1 and 2 from track "3-2" are re-
recorded
again
and
at this time
the
level
is set
with
knob
2. This
proce-
dure is repeated, everytime a new record
has to be made on the free track and the
mode selector has to be set on the mat-
ching track M (multiplay). This procedure
can also be continued until the recording
