OPERATION
Pre-ride Inspection
For your safety, it is very important to take a few
moments before each ride to walk around your
motorcycle and check its condition. If you detect
any problem, be sure you take care of it, or have it
corrected by your Honda dealer.

Always perform a pre-ride inspection before

every ride and correct any problems.
1. Engine oil level – add engine oil if required
(page 36). Check for leaks.
2. Fuel level – fill fuel tank when necessary (page
34). Check for leaks.
3. Brakes – check operation;
Front: make sure there is no brake fluid leakage
(page 29).
Rear: adjust free play if necessary (page 30).
4. Tyres – check condition and pressure (page 37).
5. Drive chain – check condition and slack (page
69). Adjust and lubricate if necessary.
6. Drive chain slider – check slider wear (page 73).
7. Throttle – check for smooth opening and full
closing in all steering positions (page 68).
8. Clutch – check operation, and adjust if necessary
(page 31).
9. Lights and horn – check the headlight, brake/
tail light, turn signals, indicators and horn for
proper operation.
10. Spark plug and high tension terminal – check
for looseness.
11. Engine stop switch – check for proper function
(page 41).
12. Nuts, bolts, fasteners – check the front wheel
to see that the axle nuts are tightened securely.
Check security of all other nuts, bolts, and
fasteners.
