• Cancer (the effects of electrical stimulation on cancerous tissue are unknown).
• Acute or chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
• A tendency to hemorrhage following acute trauma or fracture.
To avoid personal injury, do not use this device:
• On the neck/carotid artery, as it could cause cardiac arrest.
• Across or through the head, directly on the eyes, covering the mouth, on the front of the neck, (especially the
carotid sinus), or with electrodes placed on the chest and the upper back or crossing over the heart.
• Near the upper chest, since it could increase the risk of ventricular fibrillation leading to cardiac arrest.
• In the genital area.
• On acutely or chronically diseased (injured or irritated) skin (e.g. inflamed skin – whether painful or not, reddened skin,
rashes, e.g. allergies, burns, bruises, swellings, both open and healing wounds, and post-operative scars where the healing
process could be affected) or over swollen, red or inflamed areas or skin eruptions (e.g. phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose
veins).
• On areas of injury or restricted movement (e.g., fractures or sprains).
• If you are under medical supervision for cognitive dysfunction as you may not be able to comply with safety instructions.
• When asleep, when driving a vehicle or when operating machinery.
• If connected to a high-frequency surgical device.
• After consuming alcohol.
• Whilst undertaking any activity where an unexpected reaction (e.g. strong muscle contractions even at low intensity) could be
dangerous.
• At the same time as other devices that emit electrical pulses.
• The device must never be used near to the heart. The stimulation electrodes must not be placed on any part of the front
ribcage (where the ribs and breastbone are located), especially not on the two large pectorals. This can increase the risk of
ventricular fibrillation and induce cardiac arrest.
• While you bathe or shower. Do not store or keep the device where it can fall into a bathtub or sink. Do not use the device in
humid environments.
• While using any life keeping electronic medical devices, TENS devices, electrocardiograph and any other medical screening
and monitoring devices.
• On the skeletal skull structure, or around the mouth, throat or larynx.
• If the device does not work properly, or you feel unwell or experience pain, stop using it immediately.
