Maintenance
7.1 Safety information on maintenance
Basics
7.2 Use of the heat exchanger
The seals of the heat exchanger must be replaced at regular intervals (approx. 3 years).
Regularly check that the operating values for the equipment do not exceed the designed values and ensure
that no fluids are leaking out. Especially when the device is cold or off.
In the event of considerable water loss, close the stop valves and immediately inform the customer service
team.
During normal operation, you should also ensure that there is no corrosion damage to the surfaces
of the pieces under pressure (expansion screws and plates) that could be caused by moisture and/or
environmental conditions.
7.3 Maintenance
You must observe the following points when opening and mounting the plate heat exchanger:
7.3.1 No pressure and low temperature
Before opening the heat exchanger, ensure that there is no pressure in the equipment, and that the
temperature has sunk to at least 35°C in order to avoid accidents and/or burns.
7.3.2 Opening and disassembly
When opening and disassembling the heat exchanger, the expanding screws must be loosened uniformly
(that means that the moving plates must be able to slide while remaining parallel to the fixed plate). The
end distance of the opening can be regulated using 2 bolt screws meaning that the moving plate can be
moved back to support the frame. If the heat exchanger is installed on a ship, the loose plate must be
secured to a column.
IMPORTANT!
In the event that either of the two fluids are hazardous, poisonous or slightly
flammable, the heat exchanger must be installed in a well ventilated room.
The use of such fluids does not correspond to the intended use of the heat
exchanger.
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to maintenance work being carried out improperly!
Improper maintenance may lead to severe injuries or material damage.
Ensure you have sufficient assembly room before starting work.
Make sure that the assembly site is ordered and clean! Loose components
and tools lying on top of and around each other are sources of accidents.
If components have been removed, ensure correct assembly. Reinstall all
fasteners and observe screw tightening torque.
