1.3. Intended use
In combination with the elobau safety evaluation units or similar safety controllers, the
safety sensors and associated actuators are exclusively used to monitor moving, isolat-
ing safety devices.
The safety control units (or similar) detailed in chapter 2.2 Safety evaluation unit, page
20 fulfil the safety integrity requirements according to EN 60947-5-3 in combination
with the safety sensors and actuators.
The overall control concept in which the Safety sensor is incorporated, must be vali-
dated, for example, according to EN ISO 13849-2.
1.4. Warranty
Information
All products undergo function checks prior to dispatch.
This product has a warranty of 24 months beginning at the time of transfer of risk. De-
fects in the form of material or manufacturing defects that occur during this warranty
period shall be rectified free of charge either by repair or replacement.
To the extent permitted by law, other claims for compensation are excluded. The war-
ranty does not apply in the event of third-party interference or dismantling by a third
party without our prior consent. The warranty is void in the case of deliberate damage
or incorrect handling. If a warranty is provided, the warranty period is not extended. We
reserve the right to charge for costs resulting from unjustified claims, e.g. installation or
operating errors.
The use of safety sensors in the North American market is limited to industrial
machines in accordance with NFPA 79.
1.5. Liability exclusion
No liability shall be accepted for any damage or operational faults caused by disregard-
ing these Operating manual. All further liability of the manufacturer is excluded in the
case of damage caused by the use of replacement and accessory parts that have not
been authorized by the manufacturer.
No repairs, conversions or modifications are permitted for reasons of safety and the
manufacturer shall not be liable for any resulting damage.
