Please ensure that the voltage does not fall below the required minimum input volt-

age of the downstream safety processing unit. For that reason observe the voltage
drop at the safety sensor (series resistor) and in the connection cable.
For safety sensors with LED's, also take the voltage drop of the internal LED

switching and the reduced current carrying capacity of the contract into account
(see chapter 3.1 Electrical data, page 21).
Observe the notes in chapter 2 when connecting in series. Safety instructions,

page 19.
6. Information on the product life cycle
6.1. Transport and storage
See chapter 3.2 Environmental data, page 22.
6.2. Putting into service
When commissioning, the following points must be ensured in advance:
Safety sensor and actuator are positioned correctly and mounted in a fixed position.

The supply line is intact.

There are no iron filings on the safety sensor and actuator.

The safety sensor and the connected control unit must then be tested for correct func-
tionality.
6.3. Maintenance
If the safety sensor is mounted and used correctly, no maintenance measures are be
necessary. We recommend a visual and functional inspection carried out at regular in-
tervals:
 Check that the safety sensor and actuator are firmly seated.
 Inspect the connection cable for damage.

6.4. Dismantling
 Dismantle the safety sensor in a powered down state.

The control contact is not a safety contact.
It must not be incorporated into a safety circuit.
Use the control contact for non safety-relevant signal and control functions only.
Damaged or faulty devices must be exchanged with original replacement parts!
