4. Installation
4.1. Safety sensor and actuator
Do not use as a limit stop.
•
Do not install in strong magnetic fields.
•
Do not expose to any strong shocks or vibrations.
•
Keep away from iron filings.
•
The safety sensor and the accompanying actuators may only be mounted in a volt-

age-free state.
Ensure that all safety sensor and actuator labels are congruently opposed to one

another.
The installation position is arbitrary. The safety sensor and actuator are arranged

according to the figure in the appendix (see actuator operating directions page 67
and 68).
Please note the specified installation tolerances and the approved actuator operat-

ing directions.
The safety sensor is a non-flush mountable proximity sensor (as per EN 60947-5-
2). The safety sensor and actuator must be attached to a non-ferromagnetic mate-
rial so that changes to the operating distances are avoided.
If, however, assembly to a ferromagnetic material is planned, a free zone of 35 mm
(153MSK) or 25 mm (165MSK) is required.
In order to avoid influencing the operating distances, a non-ferromagnetic spacer
with a thickness of at least 10 mm must be used. The above-mentioned free zone
still applies to the sensor and actuator.
