NOTES FOR LI-ION BATTERIES
Use of Li-Ion batteries
Batteries which have not been used for some time should be
recharged before use.
Temperatures in excess of 50°C (122°F) reduce the performance
of the battery. Avoid extended exposure to heat or sunshine (risk of
overheating).
The contacts of chargers and batteries must be kept clean.
For an optimum life-time, the batteries have to be fully charged, after
used.
To obtain the longest possible battery life remove the battery from
the charger once it is fully charged.
For battery storage longer than 30 days:
Store the battery where the temperature is below 27°C and away
from moisture
Store the battery in a 30% - 50% charged condition
Every six months of storage, charge the battery as normal.
Battery protection for Li-Ion Akkus
In extremely high torque, binding, stalling and short circuit situations
that cause high current draw, the tool will stop for about 2 seconds
and then the tool will turn OFF. To reset, remove the battery pack
from the tool and replace it.
Under extreme circumstances, the internal temperature of the
battery pack could raise too much. If this happens, the fuel gauge
will fl ash until the battery pack cooled down. After the lights go off ,
the work may continue.
ENGLISH
Transport of Lithium Batteries
Lithium-ion batteries are subject to the Dangerous Goods Legislation
requirements.
Transportation of those batteries has to be done in accordance with
local, national and international provisions and regulations.
• The user can transport the batteries by road without further
requirements.
• Commercial transport of Lithium-Ion batteries by third parties is
subject to Dangerous Goods regulations. Transport preparation
and transport are exclusively to be carried out by appropriately
trained persons and the process has to be accompanied by
corresponding experts.
When transporting batteries:
• Ensure that battery contact terminals are protected and insulated
to prevent short circuit.
• Ensure that battery pack is secured against movement within
packaging.
• Do not transport batteries that are cracked or leak.

Charging Time
CHARACTERISTICS
approx.
Immediately after using the battery pack, the Fuel Gauge may
21 min
display a lower charge than it will if checked a few minutes later. The
27 min
battery cells "recover" some of their charge after resting.
34 min
Remove the battery pack from the tool for charging when convenient
48 min
for you and your job. Milwaukee batteries do not develop a
60 min
"memory" when charged after only a partial discharge. It is not
35 min
necessary to run down the battery pack before placing it on the
charger.
35 min
45 min
The only time it is necessary to charge the MILWAUKEE Li-Ion
battery pack is when the battery pack has reached the end of its
60 min
charge. To signal the end of charge, power to the tool will drop
25 min
quickly, allowing you just enough power to fi nish making a cut,
drilling a hole, or driving a fastener. Charge the battery pack as
needed.
The charger will keep the battery pack fully charged if it is left on the
charger. The light indicator will be same as normal charging.
If the light indicator fl ashes red and green, check that the battery
pack is fully seated into the bay. Remove the battery pack and
reinsert. If the light continues to fl ash red and green, remove pack(s)
and unplug charger for at least 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, plug
charger back in and insert pack. If the problem persists, contact a
MILWAUKEE service facility.
CHARGER LIGHT INDICATORS
Continuous red
Slow fl ashing green
Continuous green
Fast fl ashing red
Slow fl ashing red
Flashing red/green
Super Charging
Super charge occurs when the battery pack is
charging above 9 amps. The super charge light
indicator will illuminate when a battery pack is super
charging. If charging two battery packs capable of 12
amp charging, the charger will charge the fi rst pack at
12 amps, and the second battery pack will charge at 6 amps. Once
the fi rst battery pack is fully charged (charge indicator light is solid
green), the second battery pack will charge at 12 amps or up to 18
amps (depending on the battery pack capacity) until it's fully
charged.
COLD WEATHER OPERATION
MILWAUKEE Li-Ion battery packs are designed to operate in
temperatures below freezing. When the battery pack is too cold,
it may need to warm up before normal use. Put the battery on a
product and use the product in a light application.
COOL CYCLE FANS
Cool cycle fans are designed to cool the battery packs while
charging.
Once battery pack is inserted the cool cycle fans will turn on and
may continue cooling the battery pack after it is charged.
The cool cycle fans may not turn on or spin slower if the battery
pack is cool.
Battery packs without the ONE-KEY™ symbol (on the bottom of the
Battery) may cause the fan to be on continuously. This is normal and
will not damage the battery pack or charger.
If the charge light indicators slowly pulse red with no battery pack
installed, the cool cycle fan is damaged, contact a MILWAUKEE
service facility.
MAINTENANCE
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualifi ed persons in order
to avoid a hazard.
Use only Milwaukee accessories and Milwaukee spare parts. Should
components need to be replaced which have not been described,
please contact one of our Milwaukee service agents (see our list of
guarantee/service addresses).
If needed, an exploded view of the tool can be ordered. Please
state the machine type printed as well as the six-digit No. on
the label and order the drawing at your local service agents or
