4. MAINTENANCE
AND CARE
4.1 CLEANING THE OPTICS
We have designed all elements and sur-
faces to require little care. To ensure the
long-lasting optical brilliance of your bin-
oculars, you should keep the glass surfaces
free of dirt, oil and grease. When cleaning
the lenses, first remove larger particles with
an optical lens brush. For the subsequent
thorough cleaning we recommend breath-
ing onto the lens surface to form a coat of
condensation and then cleaning it with a
soft, moist cloth.
This microfiber optics lens-cleaning cloth
allows you to clean the most delicate of
glass surfaces. It is ideal for objective lenses,
eyepieces, and eyeglasses.
Please keep the optics lens-cleaning cloth
clean, as dirt can damage the lens surface.
Simply wash it in lukewarm soapy water
and leave to air dry. Please only use it for
cleaning glass surfaces.

4.2 CLEANING THE LEATHER
AND HOUSING
Your CL Companion Habicht has been
made using high quality European leather.
It has been vegetable tanned and worked
with great care by expert leather craftsmen.
We recommend cleaning it regularly in
order to preserve the natural quality of the
leather. A leather care set is supplied as
standard.
Leather is a natural product, and slight varia-
tions in color and texture are a sign that it is
a natural, organic material.
The housing is best cleansed with a soft,
moist cloth (please do not use the optics
lens-cleaning cloth).
In the event of hard-to-remove dirt (e.g.
sand) the eye cups can be unscrewed and
cleaned easily.
Please note that water should not be used
to clean the leather armoring on the bino-
culars, the CL Companion Habicht field
bag, or the CL Companion Habicht carrying
