6. MAINTENANCE/STORAGE AND WINTERIZATION
MAINTENANCE
• Clean the strainer basket regularly. Do NOT knock the basket clean. Inspect the strainer cover gasket
regularly and replace it if necessary.
• The pumps are equipped with self-lubricating motor bearings and shaft seals. No lubrication is required.
• Keep the engine clean. Do NOT use water to clean the engine.
• Sometimes shaft seals need to be replaced due to wear or deterioration. Replace them with an original seal
assembly kit.
STORAGE AND WINTERIZATION
Risk of separation or explosion
• Do not purge the system with compressed air. Purging the system with compressed air can cause components
to explode, with the risk of serious injury or death to anyone in the vicinity. Use only a low pressure (less than
0.3 bar), high volume blower to purge the pump, filter or piping.
• Drain all water from the pump and piping when expecting temperatures below 5°C or when storing the pump
for a long period of time (see instructions below).
• Keep the pump dry and covered during storage. To avoid condensation/corrosion problems, do NOT cover
or wrap the pump with film or plastic bags.
• Allowing the pump to freeze will void the warranty.
WINTER STORAGE
To avoid dangerous or fatal electrical shock, turn off the power to the motor before draining the pump. Failure
to turn off the power can result in serious injury or death. Before storing your pump, you must ensure the
following:
• Drainage water level under all pool entrances.
• Remove the drain plugs from the bottom of the strainer body and remove the strainer body cover.
• Disconnect the pump from the mounting bracket, wiring system and plumbing system.
• Once the pump is empty of water, reinstall the strainer cover and drain plugs. Store the pump in a dry place.
