Calibrating the VR 1500-PAP and power source

General remarks

IMPORTANT!
Calibrate the VR 1500-PAP and the power source:
► prior to each initial start-up
► each time the VR 1500-PAP or motor plate is replaced
► after every update of the wirefeeder firmware (SR 41 board in the power source)
If the VR 1500-PAP and the power source are not calibrated, the power source will use
standard parameters - the welding result may be unsatisfactory in some circumstances.

„St1" appears in the left-hand display of the power source

Risk of injury from rotating cogs and drive parts.
► Keep hands away from rotating cogs and rotating drive parts in the VR 1500-PAP.

The VR 1500-PAP has been successfully calibrated once the values „PPU" and „—" ap-
pear on the display.
Connect the power source mains cable to the mains
Switch the power source mains switch to the „I" position
Select „PPU" function from the 2nd menu level of the power source as described in
the power source operating instructions
Press feeder inching button
Disengage VR 1500-PAP - wirefeeder motor must not be under load.
CAUTION!
Press feeder inching button
The wirefeeder motor is calibrated while not under load. During calibration the
righthand display on the power source will read „run".
