7 Bedienung über ein Lichtsteuergerät
Zur Bedienung über ein Lichtsteuergerät mit DMX -
A
512-Protokoll (z. B. DMX-1440 oder DMX-510USB
CH
von „img Stage Line") verfügt das Gerät über sechs
Steuerkanäle. Die Funktionen der Kanäle und die
DMX-Werte finden Sie im Kapitel 9.1.
7.1 Anschluss
Als DMX-Schnittstelle besitzt das Gerät 3-polige
XLR-Anschlüsse (12 und 14) mit folgender Kontakt-
belegung:
Pin 1 = Masse, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+.
Zum Anschluss sollten spezielle Kabel für hohen
Datenfluss verwendet werden. Normale abge-
schirmte Mikrofonkabel mit einem Leitungsquer-
schnitt von mindestens 2 × 0,22 mm
geringer Kapazität sind nur bei einer Gesamtkabel-
länge bis 100 m zu empfehlen. Bei Leitungslängen
ab 150 m wird das Zwischen schalten eines DMX-
Aufholverstärkers empfohlen (z. B. SR-103DMX von
„img Stage Line").
1) Den DMX-Eingang (12) mit dem DMX-Ausgang
des Lichtsteuergerätes verbinden.
2) Den DMX-Ausgang (14) mit dem DMX-Eingang
des nächsten DMX-gesteuerten Gerätes verbin-
den. Dessen Ausgang wieder mit dem Eingang
des nachfolgenden Gerätes verbinden usw., bis
alle DMX-Geräte in einer Kette angeschlossen
sind.
3) Den DMX-Ausgang des letzten DMX-Gerätes der
Kette mit einem 120-Ω-Widerstand (> 0,3 W) ab -
schlie ßen: An die Pins 2 und 3 eines XLR-Ste-
ckers den Widerstand anlöten und den Ste cker in
den DMX-Ausgang stecken oder einen entspre-
chenden Abschlussstecker (z. B. DLT-123 von
„img Stage Line") verwenden.

7 Operation via a light controller
For operation via a light controller with DMX512 pro-
tocol (e. g. DMX-1440 or DMX-510USB by "img
Stage Line"), the unit is equipped with six control
channels. The functions of the channels and the
DMX values can be found in chapter 9.1.
7.1 Connection
As a DMX interface the unit is equipped with 3-pole
XLR connections (12 and 14) with the following pin
configuration:
pin 1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+.
For connection, special cables for high data flow
should be used. The use of standard microphone
cables with a minimum cable cross section of 2 ×
0,22 mm
2
and a capacity as low as possible can only
be recommended for a total cable length of up to
100 m. For cable lengths exceeding 150 m it is rec-
ommended to insert a DMX level matching amplifier
(e. g. SR-103DMX from "img Stage Line").
1) Connect the DMX input (12) to the DMX output of
the light controller.
2) Connect the DMX output (14) to the DMX input of
the following DMX-controlled unit. Connect its
output again to the input of the following unit, etc.
until all DMX units are connected in a chain.
3) Terminate the DMX output of the last DMX unit in
the chain with a 120 Ω resistor (> 0.3 W): Solder
the resistor to the pins 2 and 3 of an XLR plug and
connect the plug to the DMX output or use a cor-
responding terminating plug (e. g. DLT-123 from
"img Stage Line").

7.2 Startadresse einstellen
Um das Lasergerät mit einem Lichtsteuergerät
bedienen zu können, muss die DMX-Startadres se
für den ersten DMX-Kanal eingestellt werden. Ist
z. B. am Steuergerät die Adresse 17 für die Steue-
rung der Schwenkkopfdrehung vorge sehen, am
TWIST-110RG die Start adresse 17 einstellen.
Die anderen Funktionen des Gerätes sind dann
automatisch den 5 folgenden Adressen (in diesem
Beispiel 18 – 22) zugeordnet. Als nächstmögliche
Startadresse für das folgende DMX-gesteuerte
Gerät könnte dann bei diesem Beispiel die Adresse
23 verwendet werden.
1) Zum Einstellen der DMX-Startadresse die Taste
MENU (4) einmal drücken, sodass im Display (1)
erscheint. Mit dem Drücken der nächsten

und möglichst
Taste nie länger als 8 Sekunden warten, sonst
wird der Einstellvorgang beendet.
2) Die Taste ENTER drücken. Die eingestellte
Adresse wird angezeigt.
3) Mit der Taste DOWN oder UP die gewünschte
Adresse einstellen und mit der Taste ENTER
speichern.
4) Zum Ausblenden des Menüs die Taste MENU ge -
drückt halten, bis das Display auf die Startadresse
oder auf die gewählte Nummer des Showpro-
gramms zurückschaltet oder ca. 8 s warten.
5) Sobald die Steuersignale des DMX-Steuergerätes
empfangen werden, leuchtet die rote LED DMX
(2) und das Display zeigt die Startadresse an.
Der TWIST-110RG kann nun mit dem DMX-Steu-
ergerät bedient werden.
Damit ein Laserstrahl erscheint, den DMX-
Kanal 3 für die roten Strahlen und / oder den DMX-
Kanal 4 für die grünen Strahlen auf einen DMX-
Wert größer als 7 einstellen (
7.2 Adjusting the start address
For operating the laser with a light controller, adjust
the DMX start address for the first DMX channel. If
e. g. on the controller the address 17 is provided for
controlling the pan motion of the pan head, adjust
the start address 17 on the TWIST-110RG.
Then the other functions of the unit are automati-
cally assigned to the following 5 addresses (in this
example 18 to 22). As the next possible start
address for the following DMX-controlled unit, the
address 23 could be used for this example.
1) To adjust the DMX start address, press the button
MENU (4) once so that the display (1) will show
. Never wait for more than 8 seconds before
pressing the next button, otherwise the adjusting
procedure will be stopped.
2) Press the button ENTER. The adjusted address
will be displayed.
3) With the button DOWN or UP, adjust the desired
address and memorize it with the button ENTER.
4) To exit the menu, keep the button MENU pressed
until the display is switched back to the start
address or to the selected show programme
number or wait for approx. 8 s.
5) As soon as control signals from the DMX con-
troller are received, the red LED DMX (2) lights
up and the display shows the start address. The
TWIST-110RG can now be operated with the
DMX controller.
To activate the laser beam, adjust the DMX
channel 3 for the red beams and / or the DMX
channel 4 for the green beams to a DMX value
higher than 7 (
Kapitel 9.1).

8 Weitere Funktionen
8.1 Anzeige der Betriebsstunden
und Firmware-Version
Die Taste MENU (4) so oft drücken, bis im Display
(1) der entsprechende Menüpunkt angezeigt wird:

Die Auswahl mit der Taste ENTER bestätigen und
das Display zeigt die gewünschte Information an.
Nach 8 Sekunden schaltet das Gerät auf den vorhe-
rigen Betriebsmodus zurück.
8.2 Selbsttest
Zum Testen des Gerätes kann ein kurzes Testpro-
gramm gestartet werden. Die Taste MENU (4) so oft
drücken, bis das Display (1)
Die Taste ENTER drücken und der Testdurchlauf
startet. Nach dem Ende des Tests schaltet das
Gerät auf den vorherigen Betriebsmodus zurück.
8.3 Reset
Sollten Funktionsstörungen auftreten, kann eventu-
ell durch ein Reset (Zurücksetzen des Gerätes) Ab -
hilfe geschaffen werden:
1) Die Taste MENU (4) so oft drücken, bis im Dis-
play (1)
(reset) blinkend erscheint.
2) Die Taste ENTER drücken. Ein Reset wird aus-
geführt, das Display zeigt währenddessen
Danach schaltet das Gerät auf den vorherigen
Betriebsmodus zurück.
8 Further Functions
8.1 Indication of operating hours
and firmware version
Press the button MENU (4) so many times until the
display (1) shows the corresponding menu item:

Press the button ENTER to confirm the selection;
the display will indicate the desired information. After
8 seconds, the unit will return to the previous oper-
ating mode.
8.2 Self-test
To test the unit, a short test programme can be
started. Press the button MENU (4) so many times
until
starts flashing on the display (1). Press
the button ENTER and start the test run. After the
end of the test the unit is switched back to the previ-
ous operating mode.
8.3 Reset
In case of malfunction, a reset of the unit may elimi-
nate the problem:
1) Press the button MENU (4) so many times until
(reset) starts flashing on the display (1).
2) Press the button ENTER. A reset is made. Mean-
while the display indicates
will return to the previous operating mode.
