INSTRUMENT DESCRIPTION

This megohmmeter is designed to provide you with a strong guarantee of safety, maximum
protection and unequalled performance.
It is a portable, professional, standalone measurement instrument for use by electricians, in
order to measure the following magnitudes :
• AC + DC voltages (TRMS) from 0 to 440 V
• resistances (200 MΩ at 500 V
• resistances (200 MΩ at 250 V
• resistances (20 MΩ at 50 V
• continuity up to 10 Ω (at 200 mA)
These magnitudes can be accessed using a rotary switch.
2.1.

Power supply

The megohmmeter is powered by three standard 1.5 V batteries (type LR03) providing an
endurance of about 850 * 5 s measures. For an endurance of one thousand measures, use
the DURACELL MN 2400 ULTRA type.
Keep in mind that the power needed for the battery
measure. It is therefore advised to perform this test only once every 60 measures.
2.1.1. Self-checking of batteries "
Before carrying out a measurement campaign, it is important to check that the instrument
power supply batteries are in good condition.

The
TEST position of the rotary switch indicates the state of the batteries (it is
necessary to press the probe push button).
On the scale, there is an area with two different colours :
- if the needle is positioned in the green area = batteries are charged,
- if the needle is positioned in the red area = batteries are discharged.
