To deflate the cuff, use a syringe to slowly withdraw air from the luer valve of the inflation line.

1. Remove the neck strap from around the patient's neck.
2. Withdraw air slowly from the luer valve of the inflation line using a syringe. Completely deflate
the cuff. Deflating the cuff ensures that the cuff passes through the stoma with minimum
resistance.
3. While holding on to the tracheostomy tube's 15 mm connector, gently twist and pull the
breathing circuit connector to disconnect the circuit from the tracheostomy tube.
4. Slowly remove the tracheostomy tube from the patient.

Do not clean or reuse.
1. Rinse gently with sterile, normal saline. Do not soak any part of the
tube in hydrogen peroxide or any other solution.
2. Air dry.

or water and mild detergent. Do not soak any part of the tube in
hydrogen peroxide or any other solution.
2. After cleaning, thoroughly rinse with sterile saline.
