PISTON, CONNECTING ROD, CRANKSHAFT AND

CRANKCASE

CRANKSHAFT ASSEMBLY

1. Make sure that the end gap of each piston
ring is positioned, as shown in the illustra-
tion.
Top ring
2nd ring
Oil ring

2. Install:
• Piston ring compressor 1
Piston ring compressor:
SVU3740J
3. Install:
• Connecting rod 1
• Piston 2
NOTE:
• Make sure that the "
ton head faces toward the push rod.
• Make sure that the "YAMAHA" mark b on
the connecting rod faces toward the crank-
case cover.
4. Install:
• Crankshaft
• Connecting rod cap
NOTE:
Make sure that the "
necting rod is aligned with the "
the rod cap.
Connecting rod cap bolt:
SVU3760J
5. Install:
• Camshaft
• Crankcase cover
Refer to "CRANKCASE COVER AND
CAMSHAFT".
