7.9- Cardan shaft maintenance

Lubricate the tube and the cardan square section bar
every 50 working hours or weekly.
Follow the procedure:
a) With the cardan not coupled to the tractor, force the
cover (3) down, pressing simultaneously the three
locks (2) to the inside. Repeat the procedure for the
other end ¨shield¨.
b) Remove the lock ring (4) from both ends, to release
one of the parts of the tube. Pull the tube cover (5) out.
c) Lubricate the tube internal end and the cardan bar
with a good quality grease.
d) Reinstall the cover (5) and lock it with the lock rings
(4).
e) With the cardan shaft in upright position, slide the
¨shields¨ (3) up to the original position.
Align the grease nipple of the cone with the existent
nozzle in the lock ring.
f) Grease the nib of the lock rings (4).
Note:
The incorrect or insufficient lubrication will
cause excessive ball bearings heating along
with tail shaft locking and damage what
might cause serious injury to people nearby.
